Hey all,

We've made an addition to the "Report Post" function that will allow users to report content that they feel is news worthy. If you see a project update or something that you think should be featured on the front page, you have the power to help shape the CryDev news system!

1) Click on this button on the post :

2) The next screen is where you can select what type of report (in this case, "News Suggestion") and an optional box to type in a short message if you feel so inclined:

And that's all there is to it! The CryDev News Staff will be monitoring the incoming reports and this will allow the most popular content to be featured sooner. This gives you more control over what you think should be featured in the news. The Staff will of course continue to scour the forums for great content to feature, regardless of whether it's reported or not :)

Please note that misuse of this function will lead to it being disabled on your account so please use it properly and don't make silly reports because if it overruns the reporting system then we're going to have to scrap the idea and we think this is a great idea to give you guys more control and influence over the news on CryDev.

Let us know if there's any questions or ideas on how we can further improve this!

Thanks

But the subtitle still says "only report if the post breaks the forum rules". That sound a little bit silly in the new context :D

Hello ! I reported an update last month, but no private message, no news, nothing... How to be sure that something is planned when a topic is reported ? We have no visibility.

Just because you flagged it for news, doesn't mean that they're going to post a news article about it. It's merely a notification saying 'hey, you should take a look at this post.'

Also, +1 Hamers.

Sorry MMX, somehow got below the stash of other reports and went missing. Will take care of it now.

That was a fault on my part there. ;)
