PostPosted 14.11.2014, 20:54
Hi...I just download from this page the sofware..and norton stop it ...
it said CrySystem.dll. is not safe and is give me this name of virus adware or dont know really can be even false positive (symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2010-051308-1854-99&vid=4294919973&product=Norton%20Internet%20Security&version=21.6.0.32&plang=sym:EN&layouttype=OEM&buildname=OEM30&heartbeatID=998CE3B4-29E9-40B5-B314-3F14C5707048&env=prod&vendorid=12800&plid=2&plgid=2&skup=21314666&skum=21314666&skuf=21291108&cipherid=0&endpointid={998CE3B4-29E9-40B5-B314-3F14C5707048}&partnerid=12800&lic_type=512&lic_attr=21255186&psn=TR3BJ4H29HKB&osvers=6.1&oslocale=iso:GBR&oslang=iso:ENG&os=windows)
has anyone had problem with this software?

There is a report out there, which has little to do with CryTek, about one specific CrySystem.dll from XLGames
http://www.herdprotect.com/crysystem.dl ... 1b826.aspx

Thus, does Norton say that this infected dll is found in the CryEngine's SDK or EaaS, or is it from one of the many games using the CryEngine?

Just in case, I don't use Norton.

Could easily be a false positive. Try some other AV software.

For crying out loud... everyone knows Nortons stops everything, even a fart if you do it to loud.
I never use Norton,Avg or Mcaffee they are all seriously overprotective.

If you want a good virus malware program use hitmanpro, scan your computer with that every day. It will never take more then a few mb of memory and neither does its clog up your CPU usage.

@ Rodiaz - Why not contact Norton? Explain the details to them and let them give you an explanation and advice.

Not much we can do about that. I've run that file through numerous AV scanners and found nothing. Must be a false positive. Norton AV scanners reports a lot of strange things.

Scary stuff. This may be the final nail in the coffin. Gonna be GameMaker from now on for me.

Have you actually read the report? If you did, did you notice that only one file variant was/is infected and that XLGames is not CryTek, and this file has in general a clean bill of health?
I encouraged, and still do, to file a report to Norton, so they clean up their (insert a four letter word here).
But hey, by all means use GameMaker

I agree with that. Try Kaspersky or Avast or use the programs which DGrim suggested.
