Post Topic: the Ass kicking concept
PostPosted 16.07.2011, 13:59
This is maybe only an obsolete topic. Anyways.

I've played a bunch games yet. Almost all kinds. And gradually i've become bored. This is because i've spend too much time to that, and evolution in games is rare by now, ITS REVOLUTION (like KISS = (keep it simple, stupid!)).

Remember the ass kicking in "Duke nukem 3D" ? That was awesome. You could even asskick with both legs at same time.
I really miss this in "Duke Nukem Forever".

And that IS what i love Crysis for. YOU CAN STILL KICK ASS! OR KICK EVERYTHING!
I like it that way.

I just wanted to point out that many games today are just cheap copies.
And the main problem is "MONEY" like in may other concepts of capitalism.

Where are the good games gone?

But this is not the topic.

I would like to know: Why do you like crysis 1/2?

It would be interesting to hear/read a comparison to other games.

Yes, you can edit almost everything and try/debug JIT. You dont have to recompile scripts (as long as its LUA) or stuff like that.

i liked crysis 1 because of the freedom it gave you in gameplay, (atleast for parts of the game), having large fully explorable, interactive worlds... not to mention long drawdistances where pretty much everything could be seen at any distance (with LOD)

... i dont like crysis 2, the NS2 feels like a cheap knockoff, the gameplay is linear to the max, iirc im playing on hard, and well, for what i've played, you just litteraly walk from A to B, fight a few waves of aliens, with a big trianglehead attacking you, and you dont really have much gameplay to play around with, cloak around and kill the little things, duckandcover and shoot RPG's at the big thing, just to do it all again 5 minutes later.

then in crysis 2, graphicly its better and worse. sure *now* it has dx11, and highres textures, but the DX11 tessalation is a bit odd, looking at it in wireframe, its stuipidly high in someplaces, yet non-existant in others, and i hear people say that alot of the tesssalation is under polys and cant be seen.
also, the drawdistance/lod is terrible, console popup.

however, ass kicking in games is allways good.
(and while DNF i dont think had ass kicking, it was a pretty good game despite the xbox reviews, felt rather oldschool and about 9001x better than crysis 2 in pretty much every way.
