Greetings to all gamers, modders and those who are just getting started!

This thread is about getting known to each other and to establish a familiar feeling here on crymod.com. :) We are one big community and we think it always helps to get used to each other when you post a bit of information about yourself and how and/or why you started modding for the CryENGINE1/2.

So let me introduce myself to those who don't know me yet:

I am Alex Marschal and Crytek's Community Manager. I take care of the world wide FarCry and Crysis Community. My age is 24 and I am located at Frankfurt, Germany directly at Crytek's Headquarter. :)

As to my modding career I must admit that I am a very bad level designer and never got used to programming or art related things. I rather play the games and give basic help on Modding related questions. :D

Now who is next? :easter:

Hi, my name is Tom Anderson (no matrix jokes please, i get them enough) and I am a mod-aholic....

I am the frontman for RenEvo Software & Designs a.k.a. Renegade Evolutions. I am a 29 yr old Sr. Lead .Net Developer for a company out of Irvine, CA developing software for Point of Sale systems in the Restaurant industry. I have been modding games for about 7 years now, and playing them since I was about 8 yrs old.

Some mods that I have managed can be listed here:
http://www.crymod.com/moddbslist.php?id=70

I do a little bit of everything from minor texturing, 2d art, concept work, level design, prop modeling, c++ coding, as well as lua scripting, and soon to be a flash designer.

Hey folks,

my name is michael (my friends used to call me "michi"), I'm 25 years old and located in Hamburg, Germany. Since 1999 I have been a software engineer. I'm specialized in the development of web applications and business software like customer relationship management, business intelligence, supply chain management ect. Since 2006 I'm additionally the head of the quality management department for medical products. Please don't ask how I get around to do something like quality management - It's a long long story ;)

My preferred programming languages are PHP, C#, Pragma, Delphi (not .NET), SQL, Ruby and in the future probably C/AL which is a integrated programming language in Microsoft's Navision. My favorite databases are MySQL and MS-SQL, but i worked with several ones like DB2, Interbase, Oracle or Postgre. I'm a fan of Windows und Linux and I hate i5/OS (operating system on IBM's iSeries aka AS400) ... hehe

In my spare time enjoy extensive partying (Reeperbahn :D) , cooking, sleeping, painting, hearing music like metal, rock ect.

After almost 9 years of programming "simple" software, i thought it was time to meet something new. That's why i started to deal with the CryEngine2.

regards

michi

Well, since everybody's doing it, I suppose I'll do it too :D

So I am from a beautiful little country called Croatia (south of the good ol' Germany :D), my name is Domagoj "John" Pandza, yeah my "original" name is kinda hard to pronounce so I am using my confirmation one instead within the boundaries of a little thing we call the Internet.

I am 16 years old actually and I am going to the first grade of the mathematical gymnasium in the city of Vinkovci. I am hanging out with computers for 6 years now (no, I ain't a 100% geek, I claim to have a life but that's an epic myth), I am currently studying DirectX (through C++ and sometimes managed DirectX through C#) and 3d mathematics, I believe I have 3 years (productive experience == 1 year hehe) of experience with 3D modeling tools now [Cinema 4D, Maya and 3ds max(primary)] and texture-only experience in Adobe Photoshop. The things I suck at are sports, the language that goes on the ugly L (the dead one) and German, however I believe after finishing the CAE in English I'll grab the books and study the all-mighty German XD. So, that's a quick intro about me and nice to be with ya! And yeah, I love games but suck at playing them. I tend to play on medium difficulty :baby:

Hi

I'm Clivey, a nickname I use in forums and online gaming. My real name is Mike and live in Kent, in the UK. I'm the oldest so far in this thread  and have been modding for many many years, but the Cryengine is the one engine I have actually stuck with for a long period of time.

I've been in the community since the launch of FarCry and been in crymod pretty much since the beginning. Been a moderator for about 2 yrs now, sometimes it easy, funny and sometimes its frustrating. One thing is different to other modding communities I've been in, this one is mature, professional, always willing to help each other out and just simply friendly.

I hate Jungle scenario's, way too many trees in the engine, so I always go on a Anti-Jungle campaign, to try to get people to look differently at what the engine can do.

Anyway, enough babbling :)

Clivey

Greetings,

My real name is David Berger, so I user ---___db___--- as username as often as possible whicht also fits perfect for the work I do here as often as I'm able to do, DB, Databases, downloads and of course the MOD Database which I have benn doing also before the crymod.com started, So I know nearly every team from the beginning.

I'm from the little county Austria, little but no small perople in mind, Maybe you know some famous people comming from Austria :D (Also Mr. Aligator Jack :easter: - which I'm fan of ;) - best programmer I know for CE1)

How I found to Crysis? Some years ago a friend of mine told me when we where playing Ice hockey and I just had a bad crash with a girly :D if I know that nice game Farcry which have been released 4 month later, got the demo, was fastinated. So I bough the game, but cause I', such a bad gamer I looked at the editor, becaus nothing is better than making games ;) And then ther was it: The love of my life CE1 *hehe* ;) just kidding, but so I went on making some nice levels and mod pieces which noone ever had seen. So I had overtaken a modteam from Farcry and founded the Fantasyhaze Entertainment group to Produce Crybusters for Crysis. Yes we had starting problems, but now 1 year and 3 month later we will start to mod, and hopefully make a good mod which you will hopefully like to play :)

But enought, it's not that interessting, so field opened for other presentations :easter:

Hello,

I'm Joe, user ID HackerX4, but you can call me hacks, hacker, hack, x4, whatever. I'm 17 years old, and I animate for Crysis, living in Maryland, USA. I'm freelance outside of MWLL, when I have the time, and am willing to help anyone learn animation and the techniques. I'll help mod teams create animations, and probably make a FEW for you if you ask nicely... ;)

I always wanted to mod Crysis, and now its so close that I can almost taste it, I really want to mod the crap out of this. I wanted to jump into FarCry, but didn't know this existed until it was too late... ;(

Have fun everyone! Get modding.

Hi I'm Patrick, username Wiebelwie, now 25 years old, soon to be 26 and I've been around here from the beginning of 2004 (User #74 ;)), Far Cry to me was a game to stick with from the beginning, the Sandbox and so on. I've never released anything playable yet, however, in the future you can expect some things from me... :)

I sticked to this community as it was a great community from the start...

I've only once released something for Far Cry, which was the menu skinning tutorial...
And since september 25th I've been Database support here on CryMOD.com...

I'm Derek I live in Calgary, Canada and I been modding since Age of Empires when I was a weee little lad. I been modding alot of the battlefield series lately, I been participating in the development of Battlegroup Frontlines, and helping with other mods over at Black Sands Studios.

I'm currently finishing my last year of my degree in Business and majoring in Management, I'm also taking the 3D Character Animation program over at Animationmentor.com

For the Crysis Modding Community I been modding for Battlegroup Frontlines 2 and helping over at Timerift Studios with the Animation department.

So if anyone wants to learn animation I would love to point you in the right direction. I'm learning from the pros that work every at the major studios around the world. Also if you have anything that you like to show I would love to have a look at it and help you get better.

I'm looking forward to modding this game, and see what the community has to come up with.

If anyone cares......I'm old enough to Mod here;)
