How about weapons? Are you making them by yourself? Or can you rent them from project Cortana or something?

^^ I know from what level this is but i forgot the name....

(I think it was that one where you had to stop the halo to fire. The one before the last level)

Why would i rent models from project cortana?
If i wanted to go the cheap way as i mentioned once before i would simply rip from halo CE and use those.
As of the moment all models in this mod are my own creation, let me worry about what weapons i will add and what i wont and you just sit tight and wait.

Because Project Cortana finished already finished some weapons, didn't it? But what will the difference been between ripped weapons from Halo CE and your own creations for weapons?

Ripped weapons from HCE could not be supported here, perhaps?

Precisely, i make my own content i do not like using other peoples works for my own projects, so jessonei either buckle down and just wait for me to release information at my own pace and stop asking me to use other peoples works or you can keep tracking project cortana and let me finish what im doing.

As much as I like this project, do not rip a single asset from halo or you WILL get a C&D letter from M$ simply because you said it will also be released... and you can't release ripped assets (not even textures), the most simple example would be the C&C Generals mod. Just a heads up, I wouldn't want this to be cancelled :)

I'm ripping aswell (before we start saying 'but you do!') But I'm making movies with them, and that's legal.
Mark 6 from Halo 3 Beta and one without diffuse on

Keep it up, stay a "perfectionist" and replicate some stuff with skills and complete it without taking the easy way out. *Thumbs up*

Also, can't wait till you texture that room, if you need help, just ask, I'll be glad to support

Time for trickery.

Yeah i don't like ripping content from games as when i was school all those many years ago my arts teacher used to tell me often its better to make your own art and hate it than sit back and look at art while gawping at it not knowing how bad it truely is.
As of the moment im texturing the assault rifle which im thinking i may release as a separate entity just to let everyone else have a play with it.
Heres the rifle so far.

please work more on the general shape of the AR before you even start texturing, I'm not saying it's bad, but you really have to FINISH what you've started. look at more refs, and get the shape out clearer.

here's an example, curve the foregrip downwards: (i highlighted it with a wireframe on my own model)

Image

NOTE THAT I DID NOT MODEL AN ASSAULT RIFLE BUT A CUSTOM MODEL BASED ON THE HALO 3 ARTBOOK CONCEPT.
So yea, the point here is the foregrip which is the most obvious point you should work on, and then there are minor detaills like the battery socket (the part under the flashlight button, behind the foregrip) which you didn't model at all

so yea it's a good start, but finish the mesh before you start texturing, even if you will change it later it'll be hard if not too hard to keep your unwrap intact for the texture you have after editing, not even talking about stretching

stay motivated! ;] if you need help with it, just ask

According to the refferences i have, my assault rifle grip is exactly where it should be. when i modeled the rifle i had a plane behind with the refference.

Good thing that never made it ingame the top cowling is horrid, it looks like someone gave it to a brute to be crushed.

I've been getting advice from people who actualy work in the games industry some of which have got modeling something like the assault rifle down to a fine art and they seem to be content with the model.

As for updates.
