I have been changing the look of the beach a bit and have also been chnaghing the type of bunkers i have been using and have also added WW2 landing crafts to the map (if you choose the beach spawn point you will start in one of the landing crafts.

I have also chnaged the look of the terrain where the bunkers are located and will be adding alot more detail.

I have added a bunker that has a artillery gun and have out a explosion particle effect to it (all i need to do now is to make the effect have a continuous repeat until i get into the bunker that has the gun.

Screens of these updates will be coming later.

Well idealy it is based around 2020 but i want to be able to have a small bit of WW2 involved (as this was my original idea)

ok, well i'm planning on putting 2 mg's on most of them and maybe one mg on some of them. What will take a bit of time to sort out will be the trackview of the landing crafts moving to the beach (the landing crafts are .cgf ones).

I have lately been adding the new bunkers and adding landing crafts for the advance of US soldiers. This is very much still a WIP on this part.

Below are a few images of what i have added to the map (not final just yet), The last image that has a big amount of landing crafts will have less then what is on the image eventually.
The first image is the view from the landing craft if you chose to start with the main attack on the beach at the start of the level.

hmm.. it's starting to look better, but I still don't see any big improvement... Have you tried switching on HighSpec for your pictures? Also, it's important to listen to people who post on your thread, which is something you're not doing! Jacques came in here and asked you to post only when you actually have something to show us. One more thing, add more texture variety! I'm getting the feeling you're afraid to expand! This is probably something that's pretty hard for you. But I'm telling you, for newcomers, there are two things to do to become better:
1. Experiment. Go crazy with everything. EVERY SINGLE THING. At first you'll need a couple tutorials to guide you through it but if you experiment with EVERYTHING you'll become a 'The Vulture' in no-time!
2. Listen to others. This is amazingly important since they already have a perception of what looks good and what looks bad. Right now, unfortunately, your map doesn't really have anything which is particularly special. I'm sorry, but it looks generic. If had listened to others including me, your map would look 10 times better. We already told you what you need to improve so do it!

And the posts that usually seem disrespectful are because we told you what you need to improve, we gave you ideas, but you're not listening. I suggest you do.

Here's what you should do before you even dare take a picture:
1. Textures. Lots and lots of textures. I told you in a past post that you should use a mixture of a dirt texture or two, sand and just a little bit of grass. Because seriously, the textures look far from believable. In the explosions' surroundings should have a concentration of dirt around the decal. Haven't you seen any war movies?? The beaches aren't sandy and beautiful. They're dirt. They look brownish. And places where grenades exploded should have even more and darker dirt.
2. Natural Features. I told this in about 3 posts i think. Add TREES. Branches. Rocks. And most importantly, something that looked really lazy that you did in Frozen Alive is you only added one type of palm, one type of tree, one type of bush. I mean, seriously, wtf. Add variety. It's important.
3. Props. This is also important but is for you to add those small details. Around tanks, put in some destroyed tank parts around the destroyed tank. Add some grenades on the floor, they don't only supply the player with more grenades but it's to add more believability, since maybe someone threw them and they failed perhaps. Add barbed wire.


Do this before posting another picture. It sounds rude, but whenever someone just doesn't get the point, they need an extra push.

ok i'll do those improvements before posting the next images/post.

And untake the oversized tanktrap that you can see in that image is supposed to be a tank trap statue (not sure if i'll keep it though)

lol well i believe Hitler was mad in the first place thats why he started WW2. And i'll be deciding on what concrete material to assign the tank trap statue once i've sorted out my beach.

EDIT: ok i've just noticed something completely wierd: all my FGs that i already had set up have just disappeared and i've only just noticed, how strange. Has anyone had this happen to them before?

I'll probably have to redo all the flowgraphs i lost once i've sorted out my beach terrain, atleast i've still got the spawn point flowgraph saved.

Also on the topic of vegetation, what exactly does the option alpha blend do to the vegetation?

It will smooth your vegetation. But it takes a lot of performance and if it is a breakable vegetation, like a palm, it will lost this effect after breaking it. So, i wouldn't enable it.

But this is not the biggest problem you have atm :P
