Alright. I have to accept the fact that I could toil away for days at this stuff and never be quite satisfied. But what the heck. I learned a lot. Made many mistakes, was able to fix some, but not others. That's the experience I'll use on my next map! You can download the map here: Seith's Little Island v1.0

Will you kindly post it here when you get the chance? We're trying to get all newly finished levels in there. Many thanks!

Wow. You know, I really love this sort of map I've always wanted for there to be more games like this where you can just go around explore this sort of detailed scenery. With Crysis you actually get the feeling that you're there, wandering around and exploring this island. The experience is almost tangible - that's quite awesome, you can picture yourself there. Reminds me of Myst a lot Maybe add a few environmental puzzles and secrets?

Have any of you guys ever seen that one tech video of CE2 where it shows like a desert and stuff is all blowing around and the grass is blowing from the wind? We gotta figure out how to do that because it looked amazing.
Support or take what you can. For whatever reason it may be, its not my business.

seith , i just played your map , and , its the best thing i have experienced in a 3d environment , it feels so ... so real and relaxing . you did a perfect job , 100%
its stunning , how the wind changes , the sound changes , you made it look so real i actually felt on a real island with my headphones on.
and ...bah i could go on , im goin to study the engine a bit more , and make a non gameplay map , just like this , with a different type of atmosphere .
take care
ok i have tried to play the map in the sp demo , and i had to fix the oceam mat , wich was linked to the ocean material in seith_island , so by renaming it to "island" it couldnt find it , i had to go back in the editor and find it and save , generate and export ,
and , your map is pretty big , and has alot of vegetation but runs soo smooth , !!!

Thanks again for your positive feedback. It's a great (and quite rare) feeling when people experience what you do in precisely the way you intended.
I'm frankly astonished at the reaction this little map has received. Through my web page, I've discovered that the pictures found their way in forums and web sites from the US, Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Hong-Kong...
