Post Topic: add sniper scope manually
PostPosted 07.02.2011, 19:03
Hi there,

Question: Is it possible to add manually the sniper scope in the early levels of Crisis SP?

Greetz,
Funky.

I think thats possible, but try to open de cry files and study the flowgraphs, so you can assign any weapons...and accesories...

or you can just open up the .cry files and drop in a sniperscope from the entities tab

Just that simple? (I'm a total Sandbox2 noob). I think I can do that.

Hi Yaxxo,
I've opend the cryfile Mine to see where the sniperscope is stationed. So I can learn from that and drop a scope on the same place in the cryfile Village.
But I have really no idea 1) where to search for the sniperscope in Mine and 2) where to find a sniper scope to put in the Village cryfile.

Can you give me a little step-by-step tut?

Open SB2. Open the map you want. You should have a 'rollup bar' on the right hand side. (if not go to View>Show Rollup Bar) Then click on Entity>Items (in the browser section) and then select the sniper scope and drag and drop into the map.

Thnx man! It works great.
But after the sniperscope has been placed and saved the file, I fire up Cysis. But when I walk to the point where I put the scope I can't find it. Above the scope I've placed a LAW in the air as a mark. But no LAW or scope.
I guess I'm doing something wrong.

Ok, i forgot to mention this :P. After you save the file, go to File>export to engine, or press CTRL+E. That should work now. :))

Thnx for your quick reaction!

When I did the above things the game freezes after the startup has reached 100%.
I startup this level via a savegame made earlier. Is this wrong? All savegames of 'Contact' don't work anymore.
I'm glad I have made a backup of Island.

I think it should work starting the map from the beginning. If you cant access that for some reason, open crysis and type in console, 'con_restricted 0' and then 'map Island' (or maybe its 'map_island'). do these without the '' of course. Good thinking with the backup as well!

con_restricted 0 and the console startup of the map did the job!
I guess Crysis doesn’t like a savegame startup of an altered cry file.

After this I renamed the altered map folder and then I put the original Island folder also in the folder ‘Levels’. Advantage: I can play Crysis via the savegames ánd I can play my own first altered *proud* map.

Again thnx blind_man for your help!
