@ Dark Shadow, check yout PM. Have fun!
@ zeroX5, glad to hear it's working okay. The flight model still needs a lot of work. By the way, you might find that a violent crash into terrain causes it to go into a bad spin that may crash Sandbox after a few seconds (x key will usually recover it if you're quick). I've added a fix that pretty well stops this. I just realised that you probably don't see the runway in the island level. You could add your own, it's just a road. Hopefully the runway appears correctly in the ascension map.
To everyone: sorry folks, the beta's closed now. I intended to make the general release next Wednesday but I'll try to make it a bit earlier. Several testers have reported success, so the installation does basically work. There are however some issues I'll be looking into. But it will be released next Wednesday at the latest....
Best regards, Chris

Chris Yea I was just about to say something about that spin I was hit by a flying tank I pretty much lost control and flew strait into the ground taking out trees and what not. :]

Thanks! I just got your model. I never found the instructions on what to press to fly it. I figured out 9 is to get in, E to turn on the engine, and the arrows to move the ailerons and the rudder. But how do you speed the airplane up?

Look in the Readme file. It's all there! But if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.... Actually, the five function keys F5 to F8 control the throttle. There are quite a few other key commands, for example to select view modes, so be sure to read the Readme file.

The airplanes look great, I don't want to ask how many hours you put into making this. I believe you already mentioned its impossible to perform loops and sometimes reseting the airplane would leave the aircraft still flipping around creatively on the runway. I still had a blast flying through those mountains, I love how you have a variety of camera angels and options. I was trying to set up my joystick and I ran AutoPlane.exe but the program crashed, apparently I'm missing a library file "MSVBVM50.DLL" So I googled it and downloaded it here and it now loads up. For those that need it too. I'm running Vista 64 bit home premium. http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvbvm50I was also playing with the spitfire's skin, here are the results.

Tried it and it's wonderful, except some "strange flying issues" that I you said and I hope you will fix it works flawlessy The only thing that I could comment are the commands, they overlap with many of the default ones and the mode could become almost impossible to play, I would also suggest to setup a flowgraph or a script that disables the player and the hud, cause at the moment you can cycle through your weapons... Anyways, again good job

Sagan, thanks for the comments. When you got AutoPlane working, did the joystick control work okay? Did you see the need to adjust the sensitivity?
Finally, as I mentioned in the readme, did you see the view sometimes flickering when using joystick control? I think it occurs when both programs try to access the same file at the same time.
As you probably found, if the aircraft gets into an odd state, you should be able to recover it by selecting the aircraft and clicking Reload Script. It's something I still need to fix.
By the way, there was a runway but it doesn't show up, as shown in your shot. I looked into it last night and I'm still not sure why the file is behaving strangely. It seems to be okay in my own maps, so maybe the problem's because it's a retail map. For the release I want to add a little surprise to the airfield, as long as I can fix the problems with the file.

Hmmmm....I like it.......
Thanks for the comments!
@Dark Shadow, The flight model definitely needs improvements and I'm sure there'll be some updates over the next weeks. I have one fix (violent spins after a crash) which will be in next week's release.
As the Spitfire has quite a few key commands there are conflicts with the game commands. Crytek missed a trick: pressing a or CTRL-a or SHIFT-a all have the same effect, so I can't use the control and shift keys to get alternative sets of commands.
I did realise that one solution would be to disable the standard game commands when inside the aircraft, but I didn't know how to do it. It souds like that could be done with a flowgraph. If you could give me some pointers on how I could do that it would be *very* useful. Many thanks.
Chris

you can easily use an input:actionfilter command, it has many options and should work fine
