Post Topic: Remote Nuke with full physics incl. Blastwave
PostPosted 15.01.2008, 22:23
Heres my remote nuke bomb.

the nuke replaces the c4 bomb (next version will be "standalone" ;) ).

its alot more powerful than the TAC nukes in crysis, or every crysis nuke I(!) have seen ´till now.

the physics act almost like in the Cryengine 2 Techdemo, but i´m still tweaking.

heres a vid from the downloadable version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h20LS_LRRUE
http://www.stage6.com/user/XquZ/video/2079626/final-remote-nuke-Crysis-full-physics-inc-blastwave-REALTIME

Download:
http://rapidshare.com/files/84079511/Remote_Nuke.rar

1. extract with winrar

2. copy the game folder in your crysis folder, overwrite.

greetz XquZ!

Cool great work. Its huge on framerate but fun to play with.

thanks

I just love standing in the blastwave:

Hehe, I've been using this in some custom levels of mine. As soon as I hit the boombutton, my framerate TANKS. Well, not actually the framerate, it stays in the 20s-30s, but the game slows down to the equivalent of .5FPS

Can you apply these effects to the TAC gun?

Thats what i was thinking.

Dam we need people like you XquZ for rad's project lol

Actually after testing it... maybe not.

No offense dude but its impossible to replicate this in real time, everything just freezes and even by turning that cvar off still lags me down to like 2 fps :(

Why? Is the engine just not capable of rendering it all? Or do out PCS still suck? lol

i´m still working on that...

the problem is, that really EVERYTHING gets destroyed.... thats just to much for our cpu´s...

i´ve got a core2duo e6400 and it´s impossible to use this nuke on a crysis singleplayer map for example... but it runs alot better on a real highend cpu, like my brother´s core 2 quad with 4x 3.0 ghz....

@warboy: sure, thats no problem, but i´m trying to make that a little more cpu friendly first :D

Yeah its way to much for any modern CPU to handle unless you had a dedicated physics card- assuming the engine even supports it. Thats why I would assum cryteks nuke isn't like the one in the tech demo (thats why its called a Tech Demo..demoing their tech not ours, lol)

Don't worry about it, I have a Q6600 running at 3.85Ghz. And Plenty of power to push anything you throw at me.

I run Ultra High Settings @ 1280x720 with 8xQ AA and i get 30-40 FPS.

So I can handle it.

Wtf? You can have this thing blow the sh't out of "island" and not make it slow down your comp at all?

So you got your CPU clocked to 3.85 there;s no way you can handle this nuke espeically at those settings...I DEMAND PROOF! lol :D.

Sys_phys_cpu 0 or 1 its either 40fps with physics lag or 3 fps with physics lag...i dont understand how my FPS stays high by everything just...lags ?(

Well yeah I could handle that easily too.

But this nuke there's something majorlly wrong...I know it blasts everything...but I tried doing it on the "physics" map since thats small and everything just goes slow mod, fps stays tight but you know...the game just slows down.

Them links dont work :P

425x9 @ 3.83ghz...Is that safe? I didnt know you could clock a q6600 by that much lol
Hmm some nice cooling there.
Wait an 8500 and a 6400 ? I thought you needed exactly the same RAM in each of the slots
And with that moniter and no SLI either...pretty nice dude. stock gpu clocks im guessing.

Well something tells me that overclocking will get me nowhere...

Im gonna try on a different map...maybe the physics map is just messed up somehow.

Are you using sys_phys_ 1 or 0 ?

This is by far one of craziest nukes I have ever seen.
