EDIT: Also i haven't been able to take a bark pic yet, due to the bad weather. My camera is expensive so i don't want to make it break in the rain.

CHRISTMAS TREE'S IN JULY!!!
Purely for the performance level in multiplay, I congratulate you immensely!!
As a suggestion for more variations, you can't not include a snow covered pine, not just iced over, but with big lumps of snow collected like in real snowed over pine-forests. That would be ace.
*edit, for Tentaris, he said about 4000 instances of the tree's are visible in the comparison pics between his and crysis tree's. Hopefully that's what you're asking...

I used the "replace" function in the vegetation tool, so there is exactly the same amount of trees in all pics. Been away for the weekend, but I'm starting to work on the trees again today. Thanks for all the comments, I'll try to get another update done later today or tomorrow!

Nice, you're making progress. Although you still urgently need some specular maps on them And perhaps some less art-ish shots so we can see a bit more =)?
Shadez: i played ja mp for 8 - 9 years now , and im still not bored of it Xzero: the game hasn't been out for 8-9 years Shadez whateve

Thanks Silent! I was actually gonna do some birches next, but seeing as you already did some, I don't necessary need to. Anyway, my next tree is probably an actual pine, these ones are spruce! Zezeri: Thank you! More detailed shots are coming, as soon as I get some texture work done so I can show some of the trunk. My "art shots" are just some impressions of how the trees look like in gameplay situations - I'll be sure to post a gallery shot of each variation when I get them done. I think I'm going to release a few variations in the next few days. I'm pretty happy with the appearance, and I can't really go crazy with detail when modeling these coniferous trees - it's just not possible to model each needle separately to achieve greater realism. I'm aiming for a good appearance at moderate distances, while maintaining low polycount to keep these trees playable in large forests. The detail level is about the same as the original Crysis trees, but the texture resolution is higher than the stock textures (Silent has done a great job increasing the stock texture fidelity!).
