Post Topic: Reptars, works in progress. AR15 Textures Posted 12.10.2009, 06:23 |
Hey people. Might start posting my wips here. Here's a 30 minuet start on an AK-47 'Shorty' High poly so far only. Maybe when it's got a low poly baked and textured, someone would be so kind to animate it for me? I use Modo 401 for Mac OS X to model.

I like the quality of the model so far, it looks to me like you'll deliver a very nice model in the end.
Although one thing bothers me, and this is just personal desire. The part which touches the shoulder (stock?), is it possible to have a variation like in the pictures added? This type is used by Croatian and serbian police officers.
You can ask around for help. Sure someone will come up. Like the mp5sd is made by 4 different people and they sure did a good job!

Yeah, it does look odd if you compare to a real ak though. I'm tired of seeing the same ak model over and over. xD So I made a unique one. My friend Ben, aka Kimono made one not to long ago, he said the bake didn't turn out so good, so I thought I'd try to make my own. Here is his!

The stock looks odd, as has been said. Right now it looks like the little wire thing is, well, a little wire thing. It's too skinny imo
Crytek has redeemed itself

And his model is subd if you are unaware, so it wont take long to cut down the polys, nor will it be hard.

Looks great, glad to see a high poly model on here once and awhile. I actually like that stock, don't change it.

Looks great, plenty of detail.
Offtopic: How is the workflow using mac osx? I was thinking of getting a modeling program for osx but not to sure if I will.

Yeah, it really did take 30 minuets. The reviver was nothing.. The dust cover I took off an AKS-74u I modelled, I just adjusted the width and length to fit. The 'identions' you see on the side are floating geo. As you can see, Mac OS X, it's really clean, I use a Mac Pro, so it runs amazing. 8 Cores, 12GB of Ram, and a ATI 4870. I've actually halted this project, changing it up to a AKS-74u. **Edit** I made this Walther P22 with a friend a few weeks back. He did the High Poly, and I changed it up a bit as well. I made the low poly, UVW unwrapped it, and baked. I just started on the texture too. **edit 2** I go by Drew++ on Polycount, Game-Artist, and KiLL[a]s_ on FPSBanana. ^_^
