Post Topic: One Click Sketchup to CE2 exporter 0.1.5 (please try!)
PostPosted 27.11.2009, 22:13
One Click Sketchup to CE2 exporter

Please Note:

Incompatible versions of 3rd party tools:

If you have
- ColladaCGF newer than version 0.3.5
- PyFFI newer that version 1.2.2

Please uninstall them!

(the plugin will automatically install the right ones)

Plugin supports Sketchup 6xxx, 7.0.xxx but NOT 7.1.xxx!

Here you get older Versions than 7.1:

Textures and Materials have to be edited manually in SB2 after export!

Download latest version 0.1.5 (15mb)

Installation:

Extract all files to your Sketchup Plugin folder
(for example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google SketchUp 6\Plugins" )

Start Sketchup, now the plugin will guide you through the rest of the installation process.

3rd party tools are now bundled...

...and will automatically be installed if needed:

Then you will be asked to set up the exporter:
(default settings should be fine for most of you)

Image

You can change these settings at any time by opening
'Plugins/Change CE2 export settings' in the menu

Updating:

Replace all files in your Sketchup Plugin folder with the ones in the .zip

Usage:

- open "Plugins/Export to CE2" in the Sketchup menu

Image

- set a filename for your .cfg
- choose a subdir of "game/objects" (e.g. "library/architecture" )
- choose wether to export material (and overwrite the old one)
- choose wether to convert components to groups
(ColladaCGF can't handle components)
- press OK (after a short while it will have finished exporting, promting you with "Done!" )

Now you should already find your exported asset in Sandbox2!

Enjoy and thank you for testing!
I appreciate your bug reports, suggestions and feedback!

Can you please look in this folder:

C:/Temp/CE2Exporter

and tell me what you find there.

Also, which Sketchup Version are you using?

So there are .kmz and .dae but no .cgf's?

My plugin doesn't support Sketchup 7 yet, so no wonders.
