Post Topic: Editing .mtl in Sandbox Material Editor
PostPosted 03.09.2009, 04:34
Hello there. I've noticed that when you run Sandbox as is (w/o the -mod in the shortcut path), every time you edit material properties, it automatically updates the .mtl file. (I'm talking about custom materials that I've created and saved inside the Crysis\Game folder) I know I should've made my materials in the Crysis\Mods\... folder so I re-exported my materials to my mod folder.

When I run Sandbox (-mod) to edit the materials in the Material Editor to place surface types and edit some shader properties, Sandbox is not updating the .mtl files. As a workaround, I had to edit the .mtl files manually by adding xml tags.

Is there a way to tell Sandbox (-mod) to automatically update my .mtl files while using the Material Editor? Thanks.

BTW, I've already disabled Source Control. I really hope there's a way to solve this.

i have the same problem, i just made copies of my MTLs in the game's default directory and edited them there then copied them back to my mod folder. you may also notice that your dds files aren't updating when you change the crytiff.

i'd like to find a better solution to this problem, what version of windows are you using?

You need to go to Preferences (not sure which drop-down menu it's in but I know it's onw of the ones at the top) and look through the windows until you find a "source control" option. Uncheck that.

Also, Crysis doesn't update stuff in the "mods" folder very well for some reason.
