As soon as I finish some minor adjustments to the mod, it will be released. I really hope that crytek will release some new patch and unlock all commands what they locked, so the mod will be released like I want it.

I can see why you have it adapt fast, but I think you should tone it down a little, even my eyes don't adapt that fast. Just a quarter/half of a second transition time.
I see the problem now, your depth test is bad. If there isn't anything you can do about that, well I'm sorry but this mod is doomed. Unles the depth test is pitch perfect every time it is very bad for gameplay, whether you have near field blur or not.

I don't know about you BmB, but I didn't think it adapted fast enough.
But actually I think the problem is that the blur may be a bit to heavy. At least imo. Coz when I stare at something close everything in the background really doesn't blur a lot. So the instant that it un-blurs when I look, it isn't as noticeable as it is in this video.
The things that could fix this is less blur or a slight fade transition, but I think the former is best fix imo. The transition would only make a difference over longer period of time and you don't want it to be slow.

Sure it blurrs. Take for example a pencil in your hand and look at it. Dont tell me it dont blurrs much around it.I think it is the right strength.

I see that the opinion is different, but, this is very hard job to do, I mean to make it to be exactly what we want in gameplay. Maybe I can made 3 different option for DOF, so that can change in real time in gameplay, for example make it to be on some key and when you press key you can change it between 3 different dofs. For example: 1. Less blur 2. Midle blur 3.Maximum blur ...so everyone can choose what is the best solution for gameplay.

Look, adapts is not problem, I can tweak it, but if you want real DOF then if you, for example, focus on pencil in your hand, everything behind your hand(pencil) is so blur that you cannot recognize anything behind. That is reality! Also everything behind, because we have two eyes is in double-blur picture, if you understand me. Here, we speaking on gameplay, and this dof is showing camera behind our player, this is something that all makers of games prefer, so it is a cam, not human eyes. Let me be clear, if we want reality in gameplay, then I must do also effects that show us that we make look like in real life, DOUBLE-BLUR (very blur) picture behind of stuff that we focused.

Really nice work promuckaj! I think you've got the dynamic dof transitions quite spot on, as well as the rest of it I hope Crytek unlock those commands too, otherwise we're limited in some of the things we can create.

@promuckaj i totally agree, don't get me wrong, I could care less if it was kept at that much blur. I was just saying for me things don't blur quit that much irl but that is just me. I love the idea of 3 different settings though, that's brilliant.
@BmB Yea I know that is what you said. That is why I said if we make it any slower it would be lame. It's not the speed of the transition just that the blur is a bit heavy so when it un-blurs you're like whoa lol

Well! I work on three different DOF, so through installation there will be option to choose one of three DOF that you like for gameplay. Screen shots below show a comparison between dofs. So any feedback is welcome. High-Normal
Middle
Low

I think the "middle" setting should be the default setting! It looks perfect IMO.
