Animated textures (PAK) : 6.8 MB, the MP4 version : 2.32 MB = 4.48 MB. A bit higher than i previously stated, but still acceptable. It does give us splash and ingame videos to begin with.

It remains to be seen what Scaleform will have in store for us in terms of videos. But right now we have a very cool solution made a community member. Which he already won an award for

Maybe Cry Video still can help after Scaleform comes out, because I'm not so sure we will get video support with it.

UDK users don't have it either and Scaleform Video seems to be very pricey, because of the integrated CRI movie codec.

I highly doubt we will get USM support since it's 3rd party codec software. That is going to cost Crytek alot of money. But with CryVideo we get zero costs (for non-commercial) which is a much better solution for everybody.

And so what if that adds some extra MB per. "video" ... It is so worth it in the end anyways.

Sadly, yes. I would love to integrate Cry Video into the Mod SDK for Crysis 2, but unfortunately the source code is not available, so there is no way atm to do this.

Strange act by Crytek, since the source code is available for every other thing they released so far.

Are you Crytek employee..if noit , they must hire you , because this is the best feature of CE3..

This Cryvideo can work with Crisis 1 mod sdk or the Crysis wars SDk?...you have source code there

I think this system is pretty easy to use. The batch conversion process is self-explanatory. Setting it up via XML and attaching the animated textures to a solid etc.. is pretty straight forward. I'm sure he has a test level included. Since we can global share levels now.

Yeah, it's possible. However, in Crysis 1 and Crysis Wars is the sfd codec available (wiki/index.php/Using_custom_SFD%27s_%26_intro_movies), so it's not my priority atm to convert it to that games.

The beta is scheduled for either this weekend or the next one. Public release will be soon after that, it depends on the beta results.

Just wanted to ask how "sane" the size of a video is if split into DDS textures. I mean if you have like 1min of 720p or 1080p footage I guess it adds up...
