Totally agree with you on this, like I said im waiting on the shanghai models from the modeler, but some of these buildings will be replaced, i haven't worked much on the tod, but I can assure you it will have color and emotion, thats one of my main focuses. Also im a bit of a architecture enthusiast, and design a lot of buildings for mod's im working on, but shanghai's architecture is too complex too make with solids or tweaked crysis 2 assets, so a lot of the buildings are going to be made by the modeler, but i use Google earth to make everything accurate.

I have gotten past the biggest challenges, and this will be beautiful once finished, as long as the modeler can export the buildings to CE3 then send them to me, everything should be fine. But i have one question, how can I use that spotlight thats in the central station level in crysis 2, im talking about the ones that are on the outside of central station, and move from left to right.

Also i mention this : (modeler can export the buildings to CE3 then send them to me, everything should be fine) because last time i got some models i was suppose to get them from sketchup to CE3, and for some reason i couldn't export them so im hoping everything will work out.


Also what mood do you want this level to have ? When i made chicago for my day after mod, i wanted to make it feel like blade runner meets 1984 meets brave new world. I wanted it to be a bright beautiful futuristic city with skybridges, massive buildings with spotlights, super highways, and massive electronic ads, but darkness among it all. So what do you want for this level, i dont know the complete storyline for this, so i haven't figured out what the feel of the level should be

Sorry, I also did not provide any criticism on your pics, but i agree with what Sieabah said.
I'd lower the level of the (river?) a little bit and completely change the ToD (the one Cry-Puppy created in the Art Thread with white-ish and foggy weather should be good for now).
Then post more pics from different positions. :)

I would aim for Crysis2 New York feel, with taller buildings and more darkness (hence, the white ToD i suggest).

PS: I just thought of a new level based on Shangai.. can you model the inside/outside of a big boat or a yacht ?

I can't model that, but im sure someone in shadow tech could. Are you talking about the yacht type building at the very front of the shanghai bund ?

Also about the tod, i want it to be very realistic, so your idea could work, but at night i want it to look like this

No, i mean to model a real yacht or a cruise ship, something like an ''arcade'' level, with lot of enemies ahead in a straight line, you get to the other end of the yacht and complete the mission. something like that. :)

Okay it looked pretty good, but a little empty. You should add things like phone booths, garbage bins, advert board, bus stops, news booths, streets signs, traffic lights, pedestrians. Also, work on your tod, and try to get a mood to the level, maybe bright blue sky and sunny or dark and gloomy. Also, add street lamps that light up, and some guns you can pickup. Adding buildings you can go into would also be great.

yeah that would be cool! Also if you figure out how to do that let me know how you did it. Im currently making a level for another mod where a nuke goes off, and i want buildings to fall from it.

To me the map sort of doesn't make sense. The amount of damage everywhere doesn't flow. The cars are showing a lot of damage, but not really much underneath them. Especially when I saw the cars and windows damaged, but when the products were still on the counters. Just try to think it through as what caused the damage and how far would the damage spread? Does this make sense if I walked by it in real life? Just question everything when you're walking through.
