Post Topic: Sci Fi Scene Posted 23.02.2012, 00:45 |
Hi Guys, Ive been working on this scene for a little while now and have had a Work in progress thread going over on polycount. Working on this piece for my portoflio so and feedback or critique will be appretiated! I have about another 3 assets left to texture and then im moving onto detailing the scene. Im thinking of giving this scene a horror feel to it so need tog et some decals in there etc. Here are some screengrabs from the SDK: Any feedback will be appretiated guys! Thanks for looking!

hey theonebutcher, I've also watched your thread in polycount. The environment looks very nice, I love the atmosphere and the material definitions. My only crit is that the ceiling looks kinda empty in the 3rd screenshot. My 2 cent is to put some kind of pipes or wires just to break up rectangular look of the scene. btw thanks for the screenshot tip

@VengenceBot: The smoke is a PFX system for a smokey/misty effect. The scene is rendered in the free SDK man, Im glad you like it I will be posting more progress as it comes! I will have a look at the lights, i think they are enhanced by the TOD settings im using if im honest, but I will take another look at them. Cheers for looking.
@hostilis: Cheers man! glad youve been following, ive got big plans for that ceiling. thisnking of having some kind of cable conduit on there. And im glad that the screenshot tip helped you out man! helped me a tonne!
@Cleric: Yeah im going with a system shock/Dead space theme the info sign with the question mark is a remake of an asset from SS2! thanks for looking mate!
@Johnny Guitar: PM replied man! thanks for looking!
Again any feedback and crits will be massively helpful as I want this as a portoflio piece!
Cheers!

Great Scene. You could also use the Irridiance Volumes for enhanced lightning. But what is a portfolio?

Your portfolio would be a selection of your work that you can showcase. When looking for a job, etc. (An architecture student would make a selection of the projects done during the education, that would represent his/her skills.)
