themodman101: Thanks! I've been doing some architectural visualization among my duties at the office I'm working at. I'm actually planning to port the scene to CE3, that render is a great reference when it comes to lighting, GI intensity and so on! Your boat is looking absolutely stunning. So much detail... The render with the ocean is delicious - just needs some dirt and grime on the boat and it'll look perfect!

@Grim: Awesome mate, I cant wait to see how the CE3 stacks up to Mental Ray in that particular scene. As you know I use mental ray a lot as well. It is a very awesome renderer and quite fast considering the quality it gives. V-RAY is just really REALLY slow. hehe Yeah the ship is shaping up! If you think that's a lot of detail, we have much more now. Were ALMOST done and I'm so happy with the result. There will be a lower detail textured version, and we plan on making the Model Scene available for educational purposes. With the agreement of no commercial or personal use of course. Will probably be making an official thread in the Misc section in the next week or so. For now here are the models stats: HP Model: 4,150,000 Polygons (Not triangles) 385 Objects 4202 Elements 14 materials LP model is as of now still a WIP, and will be around 400,000 I hope.

It says rotor in the top so I'm gonna place a guess and say that you're working on a rotor.

some of the things I'm working on: - A hanger for small aircraft.
- a generator for bunkers.
- and a weapon although it is heavily WIP
the hanger is 50% finished and the generator is about 80% finished I'm also busy on texturing another building, but the XSI exporter doesn't want to export it with the textures.

Are you ever on skype anymore? thanks and yeah, the mod tool is a bit limited, and the renders are in a low resolution so in the end mostly take print screens. I don't really go alot on skype anymore today I am on-line btwEDIT: on a sidenote the XSI exporter crashes a lot on my pc, always after creating the .dae.

Quote by birdeez: Wow... This is amazing work. It looks quite natural, but the color should be slightly different... And the bark could need a little rework. Going for a Tron Lightcycle, and I am still ashamed of skills... Needs quite more effort to get there: That's the one I use as a reference, among other images.

not a bad start mate. You have some tough Geo-shapes in there. Anytime you have organic shapes mixed with Mechanical shapes, you have a edge-flow nightmare. And you've done well.

Quote by revange: EDIT: on a sidenote the XSI exporter crashes a lot on my pc, always after creating the .dae. You could try Cry-Ruan's new FBX importer. I'm currently using a very strange workflow: modelling in Mod Tool (because I'm familiar with it) then exporting the model to 3DS Max and finally exporting it again to CE3.
