@The_Grim:

Very nice TOD work there mate, I've been having a hard time getting the settings right on my TOD's in the new build. Especially the fog. If you figure out how to fix the fog to sky rendering issue please say something, its plaguing everyone :(

@Mr Dojo:

I'm assuming these rocks are some sort of young igneous rock, unless your not done with them yet. In which case they could be pretty much anything. Kind of reminds me of skyrim rocks, which weren't exactly very accurate either. But hey its fantasy, what ya gonna do. :P

They don't feel very well formed, the larger shapes should be a little bit more robust. As that medium and small frequency detail won't transfer from the normal's into the game engine in the way you would hope it would. Unless your texture is ultra bland. So the rocks will feel more like blobs in engine.

Actually the last one reminds me of slabs of Fermica, and the first ones clumps of Compressed Iron Ferite.

Art is not merely an imitation of the reality of nature, but in truth a metaphysical supplement to the reality of nature, placed alongside thereof for its conquest.

Actually we do plan on putting it into CE3, I already have the guns in there. The biggest issue as Im sure you can imagine is UV's. hehe

Wish It would shade right without the little boogers with plain materials.

Anyways something different, I'm working on a massive enterable building. Blockout is almost done. :P

So far:

The polycount is a lie, since I have multiple mesh back-ups in the layers. :P The full thing is approximately 6,700 so far.

Nice, but I wonder how you will deal with interior scale gameplay issues :D (unless it's not meant for gameplay just for looking).
And I ask because entire building look to realistic in scale, to have viable interior for gameplay (areas will to just very tight).

impressive work Grim, got to love CryEngine's materials :)

had rocksculpting on my agenda today:

I am a bit stuck trying to model a high poly weapon :/ might post the WIP tomorrow to ask some advice.

Good start. But try to use Clay with alt, Trim Dynamic and Polish. Try to avoid scultping high frequency details and small details. They will get lost on normal map anyway, and in most cases will look ugly anyway. If you want small details just use surface noise with plugin and drag some alpha brushes. Just don't forget to trim those details again.
That's my 3 cents. I'm not master rock sclupter too, but that's my little experience.

Oh and last thing. Don't forget you have dynamesh. Just toss some rocks around with different scale, and rotation to make it more intresting :D.

Actually the gameplay relies on perfect scales, its no problem at all. The interior works fantastic from what I've laid out. You can avoid any problems by planning for it ahead of time ;)

Plus this model is for a game that relies on tighter environments.

@IS:
Very interesting table mate, crazy legs!! haha

here's something im setting up. Quick testing for the assets. Enjoy :P
Oh yeah, for anyone who thinks its too dark. My bad, once again I must mention my Monitors are overly bright apparently. I can see just fine. So I make some adjustments.

I may post a super shot for the CE3 art thread.

I instantly thought of Resident Evil as well (even though I never played the games) - even more maybe Alone In The Dark. If that's the mood you're going for, this is going to be seriously awesome! :)
