Post Topic: Exported Model Corrupt Posted 11.05.2012, 00:15 |
I've been trying to export a .cga for a ca I've been preparing. It's a highpoly car, so MAYBE that's the problem, but I'd rather be sure before I reduce the quality of the original model. There's no point in me explainig, I thought it would be best to just post a couple of images that illustrate the issue perfectly. They are attached in this same post. Images 01 & 02 are the model as it looks inside 3DSMAX, image 03 is the model exported into the engine with Crytek's exporter. Same thing happens for other parts of the car. But this is the most evident.

Hi I'll admit I'm no expert but I did get what looks like the exact problem on a model I imported. I just redid the materials in Max and exported the materials and model again and that solved the problem for me, not sure how plausible that is for yourself mine was a really low poly cacky test model. Like I said I'm no expert so don't take that as the solution without confirmation that is going to resolve your issue, wouldn't want to cause you hours of wasted time I think I might have reset the xform aswell, have you tried that?

Yeah, remaking materials should solve it.
AND BTW: ARE YOU INSANE? THIS IS WAY TOO HIPOLY, EVEN FOR PC !!! REDUCE IT OR DIE IN-GAME !!!

Whoa dude. Those polys are thru the roof. You won't have a playable scene if you keep this up ;-P

Hahaha, yes, I know they are pretty highpoly, I just wanted to test a veeery detailed model and see how it runs in the engine. Actually, even though the car has 1.800.000 polygons, I got into the car and it runned just the same as a lowpoly one. Granted, if I fill my scene with such highpoly cars... BUM!!! But it's nice to have at least one!!! Will try rebuilding the Materials and re-exporting and will get back to you!!!! Thanks all for your replies!!!

Well, tried rebuilding the material in MAX and reexporting both the .mtl and the .cga, but no luck yet... any other ideas...?

Maybe flipped faces and stuff? Try the standard-procedure -> Weld vertices and edges, reset xForm.

Done that, no luck... I built a model for a club House and found it exported with corrupted textures too... don't know why, I just export the cga as usual, but it still corrupts textures ingame. It's very frustrating, I want to create a good scene, but there's no way I can do that unless I can import good assets into it...

Tried exporting it, but no corrupt texture coordinates error appeared... and from what I can see, the model renders just fine if rendered in 3DSMAX... I'm not a professional 3d artist, so I'm not sure if there is anything else I should be checking out, but from what I could see, everything looks fine...
