hello again people! once again ive failed to get my own player into cryengine! i have followed 3 different tuts and still ive messed up? god only knows how? but he wont answer so im here again! lol anyways i have put all my files together in a zip and hope someone who has done this can take a look at it and see if they can work out whats up? the player model is a model of me! :D yep, i wanna be in my game! my player is currently naked but like an action figure as crydev has stated! ive not made cloths yet but will get to that later if i find a good tut! i just want to use my own player for now so if someone can fix it and tell me what i did wrong so i know how to do it in the future, you would be a star! :D feel free to drop some shorts on me if you like! lol but tbh i just want to get this working! so can you help? thanks for your time :)

What exactly do you have problems with?
I used the agent.max file of the sample assets package and rigged your char to the skeleton_character rig (bip01) and it worked just fine. After that I copied skeleton_character.chrparams into the export location and renamed it to player01.chrparams.
Allthough strangely I did get a warning about degenerate faces and it still exported fine.
Check the justmakegames tutorials on youtube or others (gotta give richmar1 a credit here, awesome guy).
Even the animations would play fine, I'm quite surprised it was that easy tbh. Ofc I did this quick'n'dirty style and completely skipped the weighting. But I'm just fascinated how well it still worked out.

So in short: Your mesh surely is not the problem if you use the sdk skeleton to rig it to. If you want to use your own biped that's another story. There are tuts for that too (justmakegames).

hi thanks for the reply! justmakegames was one of the tuts i tried! same as you i got some degen faces but it exported fine but in the charactor editor the skeleton file only shows a box for me? no skeleton? so dont know how or why it worked for you and not for me? :( though i seem to me messing up everything i export somehow? i also tried to rig my player to the sdk agent file last time i tried this and would you have guessed, the file became corrupt somehow and cant even open the max file now so lost that too! :( if you got it to work thats great but still dont explain why or how im messing it up? i have done it over and over to make sure ive not missed anything but always fail my end! im lost as to why? :( thanks for having a look and i guess im just gonna have to do it over and over again till it for some reason works!

Sorry if my post came across offensive, that wasn't intended.
I just checked the .chr files of your package and they work in my editor. :D

The box you see is the mesh of the skeleton, not the skeleton itself. Turn on "Show skeleton" in the debug options on the right side of the character editor in sandbox. ( you have to scroll down to the bottom to see the debug options).
I can't tell what you're doing wrong because you don't seem to do anything wrong.
YOUR .chr files work as replacement for the player model, too. So I'm at the end of my knowledge, maybe someone else can help.

thanks that works! :D i didnt have the roolup bar open in the editor so didnt see the debug options! thanks a lot! will let you know how i get on! :)

hello again people. yet again im having problems! no matter how many times i do the tuts it gets messed up!? i must have done it 10 times over just today and i failed yet again! think 3ds max just hates me! really am loosing faith! :( as you can see from my latest i look like resident evil tyrant! god knows what happened there? all i want to do right now is use my head on the agents body as ive not got round to making clothes yet for my player so hes naked like in the first post! so just for now i want to use the agent sdk file with my head! but no matter what i do there is always another problem! can someone here be kind enough to rig my head for me please? all files needed are in the file plus other that are not but everything is there. thanks a million :)
