 Post Topic: innovative minds looking to start a team

Innovative Minds is a new indie team developing games and other forms of entertainment. We are a small team that has been working together for six years (but not as a team). We are looking for more individuals to help us push our projects along until we have a complete game.



About Us

Innovative Minds was formed by two indie developers back in 2006. Formed by two college students the work that they have done has all been for academic purposes. Currently since there is only two of us our profilio is not very extensive. We have work with numerous game engines from Torque 3D to UDK. We have also self funded our projects up to this point. Our team is passionate about the many different projects we have lined up. We have gone through many roadblocks to keep our projects alive, so we are a fairly positive team.



About Our Project(s)

We have a number of projects we have lined up. We would like to have them all developed with cryengine but we'll see how things go. The first project we are calling Project Survival Horror origins. The game can be switched on the fly from first person to over- the-shoulder third person camera similar to Arma series. The player will have the choose to pick from one of ten students, and must navigate them through a number of different scenario full of menacing ghouls. Single campaign (main)is 1- 4 player co-op gameplay; similar to L4D. The main campaign is set up as scenarios, each scenario will introduce a different horror story within themselves, all the scenario will lead up to the main story and will reveal truths about the players. Multiplayer battle-mode offers a variety of gameplay features and objectives. The next project will extend the story of the first project. Currently we are calling it just Project Survival Horror.


Planned Features


Mystic Potions- Character(s) with a high enough smarts attribute are able to create mystic potions, to enhance the player ability for a period of time.
Attributes/Skill Sets- Each player has a special item and ability each starts with. Some players are strong and can take more hits, other players will be faster but not able to take as much on the attack side. Other players will be smarter and able to handle technical things through out the game. Others will not be as smart but more defensive.

Currently all the concept art has been done by myself, so no need for a concept artist. We have about 75% of the models done for the first project. Unfortunately we still have models that are needing to be done. So that's why we are in need of a character modeler, an environmental artist, one programmer, and a level designer. I myself have been pulling duty on multiple tasks; production lead, writer, concept art, level design, learning modeling, and texture art as well. We can meet regularly on skype or yahoo messager. We can even connect on facebook and create a group and met that way. We have a game design document completed, an art reference document completed, and a level design document is currently in the works. We are also currently working on our website.
