 Post Topic: Export to engine question
PostPosted 08.07.2012, 23:37
Hello guys,

I have a question for the level export. At which point I can find the code that I have to enter into the system.cfg? The Console show me this after pressing the export button:

Try removing the spaces from your level name. Use an underscore _ if need be.

Ok, I underline the directories and now I can play my level in the launcher, but I doesn't see a generated code after pressing the export button. He will still appear in the console?
But thank you for solving my first problem. In the launcher did not start my level.

Once you've added the underscores in, did you open the level up again in Sandbox and then Export to Engine again?

I had the problem that I could not start my level in the launcher. So I read the manual and came to the chapter Export to engine. I only have a small level, so I tried the version with the underscore.
I get no code displayed. Then I recreated the level again with a simple word as directory name.
Here too, I see no code. It is not bad, because I can now start the launcher created levels, but it does surprise me already that I do not get displayed code. Is the @ symbol before the level name in the launcher normal? Thanks again.

What do you mean "i see no code"? What are you looking for? Where are you looking for it? What is happening and what are you expecting to happen?

On the File menu, click Export to engine. As far as the evaluation SDK is being used, exported levels are encrypted for security reasons. In order for the Launcher to be able to read encrypted levels, it is necessary to provide the decryption key, which is shown by Sandbox after "Export to engine" has been used. The key is copied into the clipboard and can easily be used. The Launcher application expects the decryption key in file system.cfg. To set the key, write following line into the file:

level_decryption_key = key

Where key is to be replaced by the key in the clipboard.

I read this in your manual and thought that this was the problem, because my level doesn't start.
You can find it (ok you will know it) under Preparing a Level for Playing in the Free SDK manual.
I searched the code in the console. Which version did I downloaded? Isn't it a evaluation version on crydev.net? That's why I searched the key.

But is does not matter. Everything is working now. I just find the manual a little bit strange at this point. Or I've misunderstood it with evaluation. Thank for looking at my problem.

Yeah that's not for Free SDK that's for eval. Though I'll get this updated to be more clear. Thanks! :)
