Following on from ModDB's initial announcement for 2010's Mod of the Year awards, the judges have decided on those mods which took the best direction with their art in terms of both originality and execution. But how did CryENGINE2 fare? And the winner is...Call of the Fireflies, by Clément "Corwin" Melendez! Here's how he describes the mod. Quote: The Call of the Fireflies is a puzzle-based singleplayer mod for Crysis. There's no guns, explosions or nanosuits involved. Just an old man who follows mysterious fireflies through mountains and dark caves, sleeping villages and frozen woods, and has to use all kinds of mechanisms to open his path, while battling to stay alive in the winter cold. And of course, some screenshots of the art that warranted this award. Whilst The Call of the Fireflies took the #1 spot, its fellow CryENGINE2 mod, open Outcast, earned a space in the runner ups. Congratulations! VERY much deserved, is a fantastic little mod and the art style and atmosphere were great. Good to see CE2 being represented!
