Here is the full changelog for version 1.3. - Increased render distance
- Better and higher ocean waves
- Fixed foliage wind activation distance too low.
- Improved water
- Better FPS/quality balance
Installation InstructionsHP has included a list of detailed instructions on how to install his configuration files. - Paste the "CVarGroups" folder into the folder "*:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Game\Config", and overwrite the existing one. (Backup you're old one if you want)
- Go ingame and set all the Graphics Settings to HIGH.
- Paste the file "autoexec.cfg", under the root of you're Game folder, "*:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Game".

great... this is a wonderful cheat Id wish we would of had more options in the settings menu .. especially the post render like "Cold" in FC... but with the ToD you can pretty much customize it the same way.. even have it change during play.. just gets tricky when you get to cartoon...

hi,
the config isn't really an ultra high quality custom config. Its more for general performance. For example e_shadows_max_texture_size should be to 1024 or higher and e_lod_ratio should be 10 or higher.

About the shadows, there are almost no noticable effect from 768 and 1024 texture shadow size, this value eats up alot of system performance, so I found 768 a really great quality/cost relation. Lod ratio should be 6 or 8 for high end machines, I wouldn't advice using 10, I prefer increasing the vegetation view distance instead of the lod ratio, since most of the stuff that you see on open areas are of course, vegetation, not barrels or cars. that's what i did, I studied alot of combinations with those values. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy the config! Looking forward for you're feedback.

Is there some hardware limits? -Or is it possible to run these settings on Crysis' original requirements?

Read the read-me included on the ZIP file! there's the recommended system for running this config. Which doesn't mean you can't run on lower machines, but you'll most likely get low FPS's

My system handled the "custom" settings on a extremely low FPS, so I changed everything back to "medium" except the "objects" -setting which were locked. Anyways it runs smoothly with a noticeable increased quality. I viewed a mountain on distance in the original settings and it was gray and boring, now it is detailed and textured and additionally I don't have the vegetation "popping" anymore. Thank you very much... Here is my hardware info: Windows XP x64 version. AMD Athlon x64 dual core. (2.2 Ghz) Radeon x1650 PRO 265 MB. (DX9) 2 GB RAM Nothing else would be uninteresting I guess...

Well, it depends on resolution. I play with 1280 x 768, so it runs really smooth and i decided to increase some cvars like e_shadow_max.... and e_lod_ratio a bit. Increasing other cvars like e_view... and e_vegetation... does take to much performance on my system
Q6600 GF 8800 GTS 640 mb 2 GB ram
BTW: Is there a cvar to disable or reduce the blur effect when enemies are shoot and hit me? I don't mean r_motionblur

I don't mean r_motionblur "cl_hitblur" set to 0 and if you dont want shake try "cl_hitshake 0" And this config is by far superior to default very high. Even if you already have dx10 expect much more beaty Im just so glad i can withstand the intensity with various levels of AA with 8 being the best quality/performance.

i got avg. 26 fps with your config at 1280x1024. (crysis 1.1 / win xp, fw 171.16) Seems to be fine for users with the new gf 8800 gts / gt cards (G92) ? Mine is normal G80 GTS @ 650/1010.

Lol, Crytek made "Very High" to future proof Crysis, and 2 months later, people are already tweaking it for better visuals. It looks crazy nice, it's amazing what you've done, but at the same time, it seems a bit.. insane.

So does this config work on High and Very High settings only or does it work on Medium as well? Also, is there a way to combine it with another config I use so that I can get great performance with these added visuals? I hate how my e6600, 4Gb RAM, and 8800GTX don't cut it with this game. I've been using Cuban's Low LVL config which looks decent and runs great.

You're running on Low with that system?! LOL You should get at least 30 FPS on Ultra High with that rig dude, never less than that, unless you'r windows is crawled with trojans and virus and spywares and whatnot.

Interesting, as many people try to get the maximum at diagram details from the CryEngine2. Good work, yet I find the attitudes for my taste too darkly, easily blurred and to too much SunRays. In addition, can be because of it, because I changed ToD and the shade parameters for vegetation and Props completely. (everything can receive shade and throw.) My WIP Mod (at present approximately 37 MByte) uses similar CVAR's and many more attitudes into my autoexec. Unfortunately this is for the moment "nonpublic", because it is not Clean (German laws): / Nevertheless say I: Power further so. You inspire me:) I need more ideas * g * Only as idea : Why don't you provide new archives (e.g. z_Cvars.pak) where it the file structure take over and thus that overwrite the original files prevented? I made with ToD, CVars etc. and Crysis remain original. With me that functions marvelously. And Sorry, my English is not any more up to date. pRoject
