Post Topic: Release: Tsurugi Swords Posted 01.06.2008, 22:15 |
Welcome to an update of forum member Knicky's Tsurugi swords. He has now finished and released 16 fully textured Tsurugi swords which are working in Sandbox2. The swords are current static models, but anyone is welcome to modify them to get them working ingame. If you want to use these swords in your mod, you are free to use them as long as you give credit to the author. Tsurugi InformationQuote: The First Tsurugi (translated as "First Sword" in English) is a collection of six swords, designed such that they can be assembled into one and used by Cloud Strife as his primary weapon in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, the film sequel to Final Fantasy VII. The individual swords that comprise the First Tsurugi are not officially named, though some fans have referred to them according to which swords they resemble from Final Fantasy VII. They consist of one main base blade, one hollow blade that serves as the front edge for the combined sword, two identical, but asymmetrically opposite, serrated blades that form the back, and two identical, also asymmetrically opposite, smaller blades that attach to the sides.Quote FromPlayStation.com Forums Collection ScreenshotThis is a screenshot of all 16 swords in a collection inside SandBox2 which are showing their final appearance ingame. Features- 16 fully textured Tsurugi Sword models, working in Sandbox2.
- The models and textures are free to use for anyone.
- Especially useful for use as a modders resource or prop.
Installation Guide- Go to your Crysis game folder -> Electronic Arts -> Crytek -> Crysis -> Game.
- Copy the downloaded object file into the current game folder (Game).
NOTE: If you use modified object files, scripts or textures the cheatprotection won't let you play. Related Links:- Forum Thread: Tsurugi Sword- Download: Tsurugi Swords-Crymod Staff Team

ahaha ha.. *sweatdrop* if anyone's going to be reworking these at all I did make some textures for them.. but it might take a few years to get them to you... I'm the world's worst procrastinator.

okay so does everyone remember the legend of zelda mod that let you use link's sword? i used the same steps only tried to use one of these models instead of link's sword's model, only instead of grabbing the sword by the handle the way nomad grabs bottles and branches, he picked it up by the blade with two hands as if he was carrying a barrel. does anybody know why this is?

This is really nice, except that thing with pickcking up the swords with two hands, to the author you need to put helpers on the objects in Max and name them grab_onehanded01, then he will pick it up with one hand

Quote: They're from Final Fantasy: Advent Children. It's a movie. They look very realistic. Realistic? By that you mean nice shiny effects, or just "realistic" in a sword fashion, cause if so, you haven't seen many real swords, as I think you have, so I'll just stick with the shiny-effects-realistic-thingy. And also I think the Japanese is better off with katanas, they are more stylish.

I just added a dummy to the bottom of the hilt and named it "grab_onehanded01" hope thats correct but it's all I understood I had to do. if I did do it correctly i'll add them to the other 15 blades and update the main download. http://rapidshare.com/files/119538496/Tsurugi_Helper_Test.rar.html
