Post Topic: ModDB's MotY 2010 - Crysis Entries! Posted 01.12.2010, 15:00 |

As regulars to the world of modding might know, DesuraNET's ModDB site hosts an annual Mod of the Year (MotY) competition. Entries can be from any game with modding support, and the voting is open to anyone who wishes to participate. To accommodate both released and work-in-progress mods, the voting is split into two categories. Last year, Mechwarrior: Living Legends won the Player's Choice Mod of the Year and the Editor's Choice Best MP Mod categories; can the Crysis community top that this year?

Current Stage
At present, the top 100 mods have been selected, and it's now time for the next stage of voting. But who managed to make it through and represent the CryENGINE community this year?

Open Outcast
A free unofficial successor to Appeal's 1999 action-adventure game, Outcast. Built on the Crysis Wars build of the CryENGINE2, it features a dialogue, conversation and quest systems, not to mention persistent worlds and free travelling between regions.

Mechwarrior: Living Legends

[quote][i]MWLL is at its very core a mix between a First Person Shooter (FPS) and a Simulation (SIM). This will be achieved through the use of a mixed arms massively multiplayer gaming experience where the player takes part in a battle using a variety of vehicles and weapons. MWLL is using the concepts pioneered by the “Battlefieldâ€

Really sad to see only two CE2 mods in the second phase this year around. Couple of years ago there were 6 of us in the top 100!
Either way GOOD LUCK to both mods! Never heard of the first although its looking good. My vote goes to MW:LL, they truly deserve it.

Crymod should organize some stuff like MOTY to highlight good creations of the year for mods, maps assets... That could be very usefull for newbies and not deeply commited followers of Crymod.
Rainy Days, Alps, Nature, My forest, Saga of a Gunner, Devils tower, Soyang Valley, Mandate of heaven, Call of Fireflies, Living Hell Noname island 2...
But its true that Outcast and MWLL rocks !
Go SB2 modders, i love you

No Casus Belli? That's a shame, they posted an update a few days ago as well, it's looking really fantastic. Well done to MW and Open Outcast though, they really deserve the recognition.
