Bringing their gaming expertise and reputation for innovation to an expanded audience, Crytek GmbH (Crytek) today announced the arrival of Fibble – Flick ‘n’ Roll, a brand new physics-based puzzle game available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Creators of award-winning titles such as Far Cry and the Crysis series, Crytek’s debut game for mobile devices retains the top-notch production values associated with the company whilst offering an accessible gameplay experience that everyone can enjoy.

This is a really nice game. But what about the engine? Will CryEngine 3 (and the free SDK) get mobile device support? That would be another reason to use the CryEngine instead of the UDK for an indie game I am developing together with other people. That would be just awesome. Could someone give me more details about that?

Just started playing, feels pretty addictive. Think it would look insane on an Ipad 3 but im confined to an iPhone 4s

Looks like a nice game. :) Personaly I don't like the direction of Cryteck moving towards lower end hardware though. Surely not a bad move... plenty of money to be made with that I guess.

We're not 'moving' anywhere :) We're spreading our development wings to other platforms, sure :D Keep in mind this was developed by our Budapest studio.

Hey guys,
I love ya work!
But when does it come to Android and what Texture Compression is used in the game(ETC or GPU-dependent compression)?
Will there be an official and free version of the CE3 for Android/iOS?

Sorry for my bad English,I'm from Germany and only 13 years old.

Yannic(who dreams about the CryEngine for Android and currently develops with the crappy Unity Engine^^) :)

That's good news. I'll check the game out eventually to contrast and compare between Cryengine mobile and UE3 Mobile. Quite impressive that these AAA game engines scale down so well to run on my MP3 player.

Yeah Im wondering that too, was it actually done on the licenced version of Cryengine 3 they used for Crysis 2? Or have they made a separate engine for mobile games? I bought Fibble the day it came out, and it's a really cool little game. It graphicly very good for an iphone game too. It doesn't show Cryengine 3 or it's logo anywhere throughout the game so I have a feeling it's a separate engine they made.

There is potential to make good games on the iphone/android devices but it does have it's limitations. Like some games, especially first person shooters become problematic because the touch screen controlls rely on your fingers and screen being completely clean of whatever it is that makes them not slide, you really need physical controls. I'd rather just play games on my pc anyways :p
