Post Topic: Sandbox editor 3 crashes when trying to load terrain texture Posted 10.08.2012, 01:10 |
First off yes I did search the forums and couldnt find any solution for this other then to reinstall windows.Which I really really dont want to do unless I absolutely have to.I also tried changing the text size from %125 to %100 which didnt work.
In case you were wondering my problem is that whenever I go to load a texture in change layer texture Sandbox editor crashes. This happens in both the mod sdk and the free sdk versions. Its really frustrating.
This also happens but I dont know if its related or not.Whenever I load a map I always get a CGF Loading failed error list.
Can I please get some help with this? Id like to actually make some maps.
Here is my system specs. Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.120503-2030) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Dell Inc. Post Topic: Re: Sandbox editor 3 crashes when trying to load terrain tex Posted 11.08.2012, 19:04 |
I just reinstalled win7 64bit due to virus issues and now I'm having the same issue.. with BOTH engines CE2 & CE3, I pray someone with experience or familiarity about this comes along to help us out. I rather not spend the next two days trying to solve it myself. when I launch the game (crysis 1) it plays. but when I launch sandbox 2.. it loads and works up until I try to load a library.. and when I launch CE3.... the same thing happens.. even when trying to load a simple texture... I'll soon try the long winded "clean install of sandbox 2" thread but hopefully someone will post before that.. please. I am trying to get going again with a fresh system and a new internet connection so I can join seiths new MayaCE3 export layer tool, but thats not going to work until I can get my editors running. I still have all my assets from the past but there is no point in copying them over if the editors wont run. PS.. my graphics card is an NVIDIA GT 120.. but both engines ran well before my reinstall... could this be a driver issue and perhaps I have not reinstalled the correct ones ? my graphics card driver IS loaded and apparently running.. & I can run maya and max, and the game itself...

So none of these worked for you? viewtopic.php?f=326&t=79855 It usually fixes 99% of all issues. When installing VC++ 2010 install both 32-bit and 64-bit.

Ill try to download the directx 2009 even though I have DX11 already installed and try reinstalling the c++ packages.
As said before I already tried setting text to 100 but ill try it again using these steps.Though I really really hope I dont need to change text size because I have a 16:9 HD monitor so having words that small would make it really hard for me to read.
Ill let you all know tomorrow if this works.

CryEngine 3 keeps crashing when I go to edit the textures. I've tried all the steps and I keep getting this error message.

Hey guys, please don't hijack other peoples threads like this. We need logs and individual threads so that hardware/issues don't get convoluted. If it's crashing when going to pick a texture, i guarantee you it's the 100% font size that's documented in the known issues. In the impossible chance that it's not, please create a new thread with the logs, as per the sticky. Thanks!
No dev/modding PM's please, use the forums! :)

How do I get the logs?Sandbox simply crashes with close window without showing any errors. Also none of the suggestions worked.Guess ill reinstall windows.I have to get an external harddrive first though to backup my files.

To the guy above me. I wouldn't recommend doing that. I got mine to work. I had to do it the other way but it works fine now. What I did was
1. Go to material editor 2. Go to the material you want to use and click on it 3. In the texture layer editor, make a new layer 4. Click that layer as well 5. Click "Assign material" On the left panel on the layer editor
