Spectrum: Colours of War is a tactical FPS singleplayer mod for Crysis Wars, currently in development by
Crystalline Studios. It's set in a possible scenario of tomorrow in which the player joins a squad of elite commandos and gets deployed around the world in pursuit of the leadership of Al Qaeda. With a realistic damage system and other immersive features, this mod gives the player a sense of realism where one shot could mean the end.
Although the mod is by no means an accurate representation of the war on terror, we try to get close as possible, introducing squad based game play where you need to support your team or they will die.
Class SystemThe player gets the opportunity to choose his class at the beginning of the game and the game will change depending on the class you chose. Specialised classes include:
- Sniping
- CQB
- Demolitions
- Engineer
Background InformationYou are the the new guy in team, callsign:
Fuzzball. You have just joined the
Korps Commandotroepen, the elite Dutch special forces, hoping for some action. Your hopes appear to vanish as it is announced that Osama Bin Laden is killed in a raid in Afghanistan. This however only leads to a new leader stepping up, ordering massive retaliations across the world.
Holland too is on the receiving end of these retaliations. After a quick Counter Terrorist deployment on home soil, the government decides to send a new group of commandos to the frontlines. To end the Al Qaeda threat once and for all.
So I guess you want to actually see something now...Here we have a few work in progress items and areas: the RGD5 hand grenade and the G17M handgun used by the KCT, both of which were modeled by
M-562, and some architectural concepts, including a courtyard and firing range, built with solids by myself,
Missing.String. As for other progress, talented designer
Ash712 has designed the logo at the top of this post as well as working on many different wallpapers that may be released at a later date.
Where are we now? We're making progress.
However, our team is always looking for talented individuals to help realise the ideas and concepts behind this modification. Below is a link to the list of all the available positions we require at the moment. But what if your skill isn't on this list? Don't worry, these are just the most necessary openings in the team; feel free to apply regardless.
If you'd like to make an application, simply send a PM or email to myself or M-562 explaining why you'd like to work on this modification, what you think you can bring to the table, and of course, examples of previous work. The full list of positions is located
here.
