Lately i've been working on the research base and the harbor (please note that the harbor is similar to the one crytek used for the level Harbor, but i will be adding alot of different parts of it myslef). I have also been slowly working on the vegetation placement (this is the harder part for me).

The below screens show the WIP research base and harbor i have been working on and the one of the latest bunker screens with the added vegetation. Also the last screen is one of the latest small updates to the beach.

I am also looking for someone to help in sorting out a reasonable ToD for this map.

I am also deciding if i'm going to make this a 2-3 part map as i am starting to get a high memory consumption (when i load my map it is already at about 1100 for the memory).

Ah yes! You starting to get the hang of it now! And jeez, why are your screenshots so ridiculously large?
These screens look ten million times better than the other ones you were showing us, don't you agree?
Can't wait until you add the veggies and decals and stuff..

Well the harbor was very hard to create itself, i used the similar design to the one crytek used on the level harbor so it has a similar size. The harder part i'm having is sorting out some of the sewage parts on the harbor but i'll get those sorted out soon.

And dfpcmaia the reason the images are very large is becuase i take them using e_screenshot 1
and i don't change the resolution size i only change the file format to jpg.

More screens of the inside of the harbor will be coming soon once i decided what i'm going to include in the harbor (other than my already placed submarine and aircraft carrier hehe). I will also be adding more screens of the research base once it is more complete (well once it looks better).


By the way if anyone wants to have a go at creating a ToD for this map then that would be of great help.

I don't think you need to show us pics of it. We already know how it looks like. Invest this renderingtime in your leveldesign, then you can show us a other kickass area :)

The map looks great I especially like your use of many different boats. Like the aircraft carrier and the submarine, if you want to add more naval vessels, you could always go for the North Koreans Kuanti destroyer.

hhmm, i could actually thanks for the tip. It would make for a more insteresting look on the harbor with a few battleships, the aircraft carrier and a submarine (hoping i can fit them in hehe)

I have decided to change the name of the map a bit to '2020 Normandy War' as the map isn't just based around the landings and that it makes more sence to call it Normandy War as the fights take place in several different areas including the landing beach.

I see you slowly get into Sandbox2! Try too use varied assets, use much different Objects and Materials.

ok very well, i'll experiment with different materials and assets. I'm currently just working on the villages, Harbor and research site so i've got alot of work to do before the next update.

the harbor looks really good, but i think the smoke on the fourth screenshot is a bit overwhelming

@untake, i didn't have the intention to bump, because i really think that smoke could be done better, and i didnt see anyone say that, and i would like to give my opinion.

its been so long since i started this topic, *sigh* its a shame that i lost the entire map i was working on.
Unless i attempt to restart this map again, i will miss this topic.
