Post Topic: Photography Thread, Take Two Posted 20.07.2010, 21:04 |
Guys, we had a similar issue in the last thread as with what happened in the ToD art thread. The frequency/filesize of images was simply too much for users with less capable internet connections to browse. For this thread, can we please stick to using thumbnails or just links to pictures? Would be much appreciated. To (re)start things off, some photos (yes, I post-processed them, sue me) I took today: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9109145/Galleries/therain/index.html

Photos were taken and edited directly on my phone using awesome apps. Can't afford a proper camera.

Some photos from an awesome lightning storm on holiday in Portugal. All B(Bulb) Exposures so i could end the exposure right after the bolt. @Ruan those are the best colour/greyscale hybrid photos i've seen, just gotta be careful not to make 'em look too tacky because loooads of people use that kind of effect.

Ideally I would've desaturated stuff with a mask in PS but I was stuck at college on my laptop so gradients in Lightroom were my only option. I know what you mean with the tacky-ness though, a notch too far on any slider and the entire thing looks awful.

Wow. Nano. What kind of camera do you need to do the "Exposure delay" thing? And how do you do it?

Most camera's have it, just sometimes its called other things. Even my old point-and-shoot camera has one That reminds me, this one time I asked my dad to set up his camera so it has a view of our garden, then to set it to a loooong exposure. Next I took one of them sparkler thingies and ran around the garden. Epic photos. Incase you don't know what they are. And this is a photo i found on Google that shows what it looked like kindof

Oh god the epicness  Edit: Also, would it be possible to link directly to the images? I hate imageshack bombing me with ads and resizing my browser to a tiny window
