Post Topic: [RELEASE] Nanosuit IK rig Posted 31.03.2011, 14:02 |
OH EXPLOITABLE! With the Kriss reanimation project i had to create this IK rig to animate with. I got the nanosuit arms geometry from callofduty511 and I used the SDK SCAR rig's bones as a base (they've been heavily modified) FEATURES: -Fully working Inverse Kinematics (IK) setup -Bones correctly aligned to where the bones would be inside the fingers/arms -All vertices properly weighted for natural and smoothing looking animations -.max file saved in 3ds MAX 9, so it will be compatible with any max version above and including 3ds MAX 9 -correctly set-up materials for use in Crysis -Easy to integrate in to a mod directory. credits: Crytek: nanosuit arms model and texture callofduty511: exporting the arms from the engine for me and teaching me how to create an IK rig Olli.: Modifying bones and skinning the mesh to them. TERMS OF USE: Giving credit to the above for using these arms is optional. Because this asset includes Crytek's Model and Texture, it may only be used for CE2 Modding. By downloading this asset, you agree that you will not use these products for any purposes prohibited by International law, including, without limitation, the development, design, manufacture or production of missiles, or nuclear, chemical or biological weapons

Oh nice, got me thinking how half-made some of the Crysis assets are when compared to these crafted community ones

I'm gonna have a try at these, wondering how different this one is from the one that cod sent me. One thing, with these, do you have to have the fp weapon as cdf with arm mesh as skin attachment like the one cod sent me? or can you just use the weapon's chr.

Looks much better. Only suggestion is thatcyou edit the thumb. When it stretches, part of the skin should follow (it's hard to explain, I hope u know what I mean)

Basically what that means is that even though you CAN use this fp_arms.chr with weapons animated using cod's rig, the hands might not move as expected, and overall quality will most likely be compromised

I've just discussed this on irc with cod, he told me that it's either bone twists or IK. Well, that's not a hard decision, IK. Rotating the dummy works, makes it look a tad weird some times.

Can you upload it some where else? It is going to take 3 hours to download it (even though it is only 3.1 mb) Or could you just send it to me?
Edit: I downloaded it again and it worked

Mhaha, the chance is that he doesn't know how to use it, other than that, i don't see any reason why this is bad to work with.
But this is an other thing that has been happening a lot on crymod lately, 99% of posts don't contain any criticism, only this is good/ this is bad, not this is good because, or this is bad because. It looks like people just want to kiss ass instead of post anything useful.
