"Nearest Cube-Map probe for alpha blended" should work on every level that uses Environment Probe objects.
You have to set up a default though, which can be any cubemap image file, and tick "Environment Map" tickbox in the material generation properties (In SB3 Material Editor). Then you can tweak the reflection's power, bias, etc.

Thank you! That's it. :D

One thing though, when I set it to Nearest cube map... it loses reflection... Should I leave it as Cube map only?

If you're not using EnvironmentProbes in your map with generated cubemaps it does that. All the vanilla maps in the game have EnvironmentProbes, afaik, so they should look fine in them.

Oh, I see :D Yeah, I tested on my custom map without probes for it... Thx man! You saved me, material looks awesome now. Also I've noticed that it looks even better if I change "TexGenType" to "World Environment map".

From the looks of the RL weapon the barrel is chrome lined, so it is a dark metallic grey. You can go with stainless steel barrel if you get the weapon mod from a civilian as stainless steel barrels are advertised as being more accurate than their chrome lined counterparts but do not have the long life as their chrome lined counterparts.
I will admit the model and textures belong in Crysis 2.

It annoys me a bit that bullpups are becoming the modern rifle and yet many futuristic renditions tend to omit the bullpup configuration when it comes to gas propelled weapons.

That's a sweet looking toy. You modelled it well. Can you give us some more shots with the finished reflective material?

Thank you!

Yeah, sure, I'll probably post the update later today.

The only thing which is bothering me regarding modeling is that I went crazy with chamfering the edges :cheesy: which resulted in 8k polys for base model... I could pull off nearly the same look with at least 1.5-2k polys less... Maybe I'll refine it in the future... It's more a thing of making it optimized.

Here's a short video with the new material on the barrel. I also started working on the textures, only lower body done so far.

I'll probably add scratches on the barrel later on.

God damn, that's too good to be true. :l

Is the picatinny rail supposed to be like that, though? It looks a little off.

Thank you!

Could you describe what looks off regarding picatinny? I used this as reference:

Mine has less segments though, did a little mistake with scaling (less length segments than the original), but I thought it would be fine anyways.

Ah, I think yours it a little too thin near the end, where it reaches out of the base area.

Maybe not necessarily thicker, but the underside has this sort of... Oh God, I'm never going to explain this in words. O_o *opens up Photoshop*

Image

Yours seems to be missing most of what's inside the box outlined in red.

EDIT: Oh God, why are the images broken like this?! It's MyCrysis all over again! WHY?! D:

I understand! Thank you for pointing that out. Hopefully I'll manage to fix that without needing to bake it again (cause of texture stretch).

Textures done! There are few versions (black, dark-green, desert, desert camo...) but woodland camo is my favorite, so here it is:

Rendered in CE3 using green-screen. Hope you like it! Will update the first post.
