Post Topic: "The Hangar" environment Posted 29.08.2011, 13:39 |
Hey guys, just wanted to share an environment I've been working on I call, as the wordsmith I am, "The Hangar". Still very much a WIP, things to be added and tweaked, but since I finally got my account working I thought I'd share my current progress. Let me know what you think

It looks great, the modeling, textures and lighting are top notch. The only thing I can find worth complaining is the somewhat bare background, but surely you're already working on adding more props, dirt and grime. The rags on the floor are my favourite, they look really lifelike!

Thanks man, those were what you helped me with earlier And yeah, I'm hard at work on many additional elements to the scene, the background will receive some love you can be sure of that...

Remembers me of Hawx Hangar. Not bad, where did you take the plane from? And when's the release date planned to be?

This should be nice in addition of Rayfan's fighter mod, as i recall. It makes you fly in the planes, so, with this hangar, someone can make one hell of a mod! Well, i cant complain about anything, its a really nice start, you are heading in the right direction

The original inspiration for this came from HAWX; not the game itself though I never played it. But I visited their website before release and they had a cool little hangar thing (I have no idea if its the same in the final game). I loved that environment, and wanted to do my own take on it. Regarding release, I don't know if it would really make a good playable map? It's only intended to look nice, really, as far as gameplay goes its basically just a big square room. I could release the assets though, if map makers want them.

Well, of course I'm talking about a Multiplayer map, and if you put some stairs and things all around where the player can go, it would be very fun ! I remember of a Cod5 level to be similar to this and it was my favourite map, so why not give it a try? PS: Yeah, that's the same of the final game xD

Looks great, can you try adding light beams coming through the windows ( atleast only the ones in the ceiling )

Update incoming! Made rafts of changes in this build, including a new, richer color palette which is working much nicer. Also the things on the side are actually lights, not windows. Changed the material on them, so hopefully that is clearer now.
