Post Topic: Gas masks! Posted 06.10.2011, 00:32 |
So after replaying Shadow of Chernobyl I had a sudden urge to make gas masks. Their all based on real masks but I'm not good with recreation so their not perfect. Here is what I have so far: SAS s-10 Czech m-10 Russian gp-5 Russian PBF I'm planning to make a couple more and add them to the engine as a face attachment.

First off these Gas Masks are AWESOME!
I absolutely love them

I am also wondering if you are planning on making the German M-38 Gas Mask w/ Filter.
It is a World War 2 Gas Mask.

Thanks Benji, like I said I'm making a couple more one of which may be the M-38 I'm still learning how to model plus these models are still a wip so the high poly's will have to wait a bit.

Did some sculpting in sculptris and I gotta say it's a very useful tool. I rendered out the normals for the Gp-5, here is what I got so far:

I think the texture is about done. The lenses have transparency but there's nothing behind them so it's pointless. I'm moving on to the s-10 but I'm still learning so suggestions are wanted.

Very nice looking man, I must say this looks pretty new if you know what i mean.. I think it should be more dirty and scratched.. Unless you really want the idea that its brand new.. I used a gas-mask in my work with Concrete Grinding, and it gets scratched all to hell just by putting it down once. haha. I mean I wasn't the most soft handed person in the world.. But it really doesn't take much. hehe Anyways, Good work mate. Its actually impressive that you kept such good Edgeflow if your so new. Thats one of the more difficult parts.. Keep it up, you'll be a pro in no time.
