A tutorial on creating a basic map (with emphasis on decal placement, TOD editing, creating heightmaps using WorldMachine, setting up AI using tagpoints, and effective enemy and weapon placement) would be good.

It's not really a tutorial, but technical articles about specific things would be great. - For example, voxels. How do they work. I don't want to know how are they done, but how can I use them to save memory and performance. Example of questions : Is it better to have a big voxel for cliff or many small rocks ? If I copy/paste a voxel, is it an instance or a real copy ? And so on. - Other example : I've read somewhere that it's better to have in game a cube with corners than a basic cube (a sharp one) because transitions between faces are softer and it helps the engine somehow. IS it true for CryEngine ? - LOD : What are the good values about distances between 2 LODs ? When the mesh is far away, is it automatically replaced by a textured plane or you have to do that by yourself.
Things are existing for few things (deferred lightings, SSAO, things like that). Do the same for all engine would be really helpful.

All I want to do in my first mod is some very simple changes to the weapon XML files from crysis 2
I figured out how to extract a copy of the PAK files for the mod, and made some very simple changes to them (increasing the HMG rate of fire for example) yet this proved to be fruitless, as the editor refuses to implement the change. this is likely because i incorrectly placed the files in the directory.
A tutorial that explains how to change very basic stats would be useful i think: the existing documentation, isn't specific enough and more detailed instructions would be appreciated.

Beginners' guides are really needed in Free SDK documentation in order to start programming a game from scratch, and, of course, an explanation in how it connects with all contents created with Sandbox.

Not just flash to scaleform, but also making a simple HUD with aspects like health and ammo via any of the below: Flash Pro Flash Builder Flash Catalyst any of the latest CS versions please, I'm not sure anything too old would even work though
BEWARE: Flaming aliens are generally more grumpy than normal ones.

Hey guys
What kind of tutorials would you like to see in the future? It would help those, including me, to have a sense of what kind of info you need exactly instead of focusing on stuff that doesnt matter or it's already documented somewhere else.
So please, post here what kind of tutorials you'd like to see in the future, even if those tuts already exist and you'd like to see them a little bit more elaborate.
This goes for Art, Design, level set up, editor tricks, etc. Keep 'em coming.
Thanks - HP
How to model pine tree. And I'm 100% serious. Modeling trees is PITA, thous thanks to tutorial on 3d motive I finally got understanding how to make trees, bushes and other crap with leaves.. But pine tree. Well that's whole another matter.. It looks simpler but it's even worse than leave tree ;p.
