In today's news post we will be featuring a SciFi scene by TheOneButcher which has already made great progress despite the creator only having 2 posts on CryDev. The scene is being created for his portfolio so after reading this news post, be sure to check out the thread to provide some feedback!

Screenshots
Below are a few screenshots of the scene, all of which could be used as great desktop backgrounds! There's even about 3 more to come.

Awesome work. I love the simple, yet effective texture work.
A lot of space themed texture work and geometry in space themed work seems overdone.

I'm interested to see more :)

I'm getting a clean looking "Dead Space" vibe from it. And I love the subtle grunge on the walls. Amazing how much detail a gloss map in the diff-alpha can bring out. lol

As far as details go, I'd like to see one of the floor panels removed, exposing some interior mechanics/piping underneath. Maybe some cables hanging from the ceiling. Whenever I want ideas on how to detail a scene like this (i.e. - space station/ship corridors) I always go back and play doom 3. The artists were great at taking already existing scene elements and chopping them up to create variation.

Killer work man. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Wow, I really like this. This is actually very much like the type of environments I'll be creating for my project. Great for inspiration! Good job mate!
