Post Topic: Far Cry (Movie) Posted 06.03.2012, 23:55 |
Ok, so I was on netflix, searching around in boredom, and I saw under the Sci-fi and fantasy section that there was a movie version of Far Cry made. I just thought that could be a fun discussion on here. So, any comments as to the storyline, production, actor choices, ect.

Ok, so it sounds like they pretty much stole the name and deviated from the storyline to near entirety?

nah It's similar in "some" regards, close enough to be considered a movie of far cry, but bad enough to make you think "what have they done to this?"

They didnt steal it, but basically Ubisoft had the rights, wanted to make money, and gave it to him. What they ended up with is a movie that (no joke) takes about 50 minutes JUST to get to the intro of the game. The entire game's plot is condensed into about 1/3rd of the movies length.
Its just really, really bad.

Yeah I saw it too, not at all worth the time. Probably could have modeled a gun in the amount of time I spent watching it. lol

I like action movies, but what I saw of the Far Cry movie is appalling, so awful it is (kind of) funny. Let me put it this way, the first Street Fighter movie was a lot better, and that was weak. Though Raul Julia was great

It was better than the Far Cry movie IMO,and it WAS going to follow the plot, but the publishers didn't want them making a movie about such "hellish" themes.

Well, if you like games-based movies go with Silent Hill, Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid: Phylosophy (or something like that), everything else is pure garbage.. Far Cry too.
