Post Topic: Custom Animations for Archetype entitys Crysis 2 (mod sdk)
PostPosted 22.03.2012, 02:15
Hi guys,

I have a question regarding animations,

Is it at all possible to use custom created animations from a program such as motionbuilder and then export it to the cry engine and apply it to a character in the crysis 2 mod sdk? For example if i had a ready made animation that i wanted to apply to a marine.

I'm curious if theres any specific way to do it because of course, the characters will have there own skeletons/rigs etc. I have seen theres a tutorial for exporting an animation made in 3dmax to cryengine but that is for an object, i'm asking about an animation for a A.I character which i could activate from trackview.

Thank you for your time. :)

If you need any more details feel free to ask.

I don't really know if cryengine 3 has a plugin for motion builder.I strongly recommend you use Autodesk Maya/Autodesk 3DSMax for your animations cause you can export your animations with them using crymax for 3dsmax/ Maya plugin for cryengine 3.
Hope this helps :))

I can export motion builder straight to max, motionbuilder is a autodesk program. :)

So it is possible? I'm just wondering how i would apply the animation to a ready made character because the rigging will have to be the same from max as for example a marine from crysis 2.

Thanks for the reply!
