Quote by Lavizh: BTW, tutorial shows the same texture which was originally used for the zipline cable.. Quote by BlackholeArts: This is such an awesome project, nice one mate Thanks, usable assets are what i like to create -- New, less bulky, set of buttons with separate materials for frame and button. As you can see, button can now have glow
Model also has separate physics proxy.

I know for sure. Yes, i exactly believe. Vertex colours will bring victory! Not for current shot thingie, but for some previous shots zip-line-parts, those are made of one tiled texture. Yes, Grimmy knows it too, i feel he is going to post here just before me, but i've stolen his thought

There's a tick box in material settings, but seems it has no effect by itself. Quote by Lukas-ZA: I love this project. Enough said. Thanks Lukas

Yep, feature is present in Blender too. I might look into it eventually.

Only assign vertex paint modifier in 3d max, paint vertex by hand or use next thing: Quote: Max •To do this you must use radiosity and bake it into the vertex paint modifier. •Create and place a skylight anywhere in the scene. •Open up the Render setup dialogue, go to the advanced lighting tab, and set the drop down to 'Radiosity'. When the extra parameters appears, set the initial quality to something a bit higher. Set Refine Iterations (All Objects) and Indirect Light to '1' and enable 'Re-use Direct Illumination from Radiosity Solution. Now click on the 'Start' button near the top. •Select your asset and apply your vertex paint modifier, then select the Vertex color, and set the options to 'Lighting only', 'Color by vertex' and 'Radiosity, Reuse Direct Illum. from Solution. •Now, select the elements that you want radiosity baked to and click the 'assign' button at the very bottom. Check tick box after it EDITED: forgot to say - (dunno about other 3 d app, but in max it will be) - select "display vertex colors" in object properties to see what your brush is painting. It is really worthy thing.

Thanks Andrey, instructions seems to have elements i've seen in Blender and it shouldn't be too hard to get it working. Also Blender has quite a mass of tutorials for everything. For now getting zip-line functional is where my attention goes, but i guess vertex painting is a technique worth learning

I don't see a point in baking AO into vertex color when you can bake it in diffuse anyways... Instead, I'd use vertex coloring to achieve general variation in diffuse.

First i thought Call and Send buttons at the ends would be enough, but after first beta idea about controlling the cage rose forth, and i had to agree that having controls in cage will offer more gameplay variations. Currently at the ends is only Call-buttons whilst cage has full control. However, it's fairly easy to redesign the controls by repositioning the buttons and making changes to flowgraph

I like last sound. Btw about buttons. I think, that if 2 buttons have red color, they must have also signature, to let person know what to do (at least it is required in real life). The best way is to give red - to stop, other colors with signatures according to regulatory documents - to operate in different modes
