You basically have to completely rewrite your ToD (seriously, wipe yours completely out and restart it). I had the exact same issue you are with the obnoxious HDR and texture coloration errors. Ultimately though, I managed to create this:

<removed - not appropriate>. The problem is that it seems they completely disabled HDR blueshift in the new update, even though it was moved to the new column on the left. One little trick I found though is to set r_hdrrendering back to 2 (where it was before they just changed it to 3). It fixes the lighting, but unfortunately the blueshift colour completely overrides all other colours, making it look monotonous. I don't really know what "3" has to offer, but it seems to be unfinished and a bit bugged - or not explained properly.
That along with the fact that they removed the Civilian entity are the only complaints I have with the update. The rest is brilliant.

"r_HDRBlueShift" works only with "r_HDRRendering = 1/2", you can disable it with "r_HDRBlueShift = 0" ( you can take 0.2 or something too, default is 1 )
"r_HDRRendering = 3" uses the new filmic tone mapping

Here's an interesting set of screen grabs from the last 3 builds of CE3. These 3 are essentially the same material and lighting set up with the builds getting progressively lossy in features for some reason. 3_3_7 looks the best IMO with 3_3_9 not letting me display the full texture res and 3_4_0 dropping shadows and SSDO altogether. I checked the texture file and it was 2K x 1K in the source but in the editor render at half res in 3_3_9. In 3_4_0 the shadow controls are missing and screen space SSS seems to be blown out by the sun light and not showing well. Just what's been happening on my end.

PS Mind you that my card is an old 8800 GT and might have broken DX11 features as it only supports up to DX10.

How did you manage to make custom TOD colors and settings for each time? For me, 3.4.0 simply lets me adjust everything to my liking, only to then throw all settings away and restore to default. I can't even save the stuff I adjust.....
