This is my new project, this time solo. Codename: 4:22
This project aims to immerse yourself in a desert world in which you find yourself without knowing why or how.
Your main objective: Survive. Your secondary goal: Finding answers.
The most important part of this project is especially the total immersion. Research into the scenery, vegetation, wildlife and climate come bring much to the project. In its final phase, this game should offer a unique experience where you will move more or less freely.
I say more or less, because you will be accompanied by a sort of guide. You will probably find soon what it is. In addition, you will not be the only person in this desert. Residents and Djinns (demons of the desert), will be part of the environment and gameplay.
The second objective of this project is the interactivity. The game will be nearly devoid of interface and everything will be done intuitively through the environment. Again, you'll discover in the next videos.
Not going to lie, this is a fantastic idea. Just one thing that would add to the overall feel, are more particle effects to break up repetitive form. Other than that, this looks very promising, and props for a very good game design!
Here a new gameplay video. This time, I present the first version of the sandstorm. It is difficult to obtain the same rendering to a real storm, that's why I said that this is not the final version.
Note also, that the game will be based largely on the weather. Because you will survive in hostile territory at night, because this is the night that you will mainly fight the Djinns, but also the day between the unbearable heat and the natural elements, such as tornados, sandstorms, heavy rains ... etc ...
You better start of by getting better texture for the sandstorm. Also fine tune the palm tree material setting cause they are horrible as standard. They shine odd and they seem to lack any natural color. Also the grass seems white, even on a grass tile. And avoid shiny desert sand upon heavy rain, just make it moist cause the water wont usually gather on top of the sand. Will be looking forward to see these enviormental game mechanics beeing made. Good luck.

The Djinns are necessary due to the scenario But do not worry, I'm not going to add unnecessary elements. If they are, is that they have a role to play in the history.
