Post Topic: CryTiff with Photoshop CS6?
PostPosted 01.06.2012, 02:18
Hello everyone, I've recently upgraded to Photoshop CS6 and I believe the CryTiff plugin may not be working correctly. It installed just fine, with the correct path to the rc.

CryTiff seems to export the 1024 x 1024 tif just fine, but when I import the image into the material editor in Cryengine it doesn't apply the image as a texture. All I see is the red "no-texture" image.

It's seems to be size related. It usually works when I import a texture of 512 px or less (usually). It also seems to be related to the CryTiff preset I choose. I was able to get a 1024 px texture to import correctly (by trying different presets), but I was not able to replicate the results. ?(

I don't know if this is a problem with the CryTiff exporter in CS6 or whether I'm just doing something wrong. I was able to get working textures of any size (power of 2, that is) in Photoshop CS4.

After about 65 exports, I'm at the end of my rope. Has anyone else had trouble with CS6 and CryTiff? Any ideas are appreciated. :)

Thanks

Everything works fine for me. It just can't rescale the images. Have you got installed the libtiff and libjpeg DLL's?

Thank you NeoLegends, I didn't have those dll's installed. I went ahead and put them in the root Photoshop folder. I think it worked. Now I am able to export (with a little preset fiddling) 1024 px textures just fine. :cheesy:

I guess that was my problem rather than the problem being with CS6.

However I still can't get a 2048 px texture to work correctly. Hmm. . . maybe I'll just have to make due with 1024 px textures.

Thanks again,
