Here is a little update how everything is done. First the models are created in the usual modeling software, in this case by Matt in Sketchup. The models are built according to a mixture of plans, photographic and textual references, and educated guesswork. Then, the models are rendered with rendering software, in this case Indigo Render, in order to get a feel for how they will look in-game, and to make sure they check out. Then, the models are sent to Robin Bock, who converts them, and imports them into Cryengine 3, where he does further tweaking of the materials, animates parts, etc. Once that's done, he may take screenshots of the models in-game to share with the rest of you. In Sketchup Render Cryengine 3 That's usually how it's done.

A rendering of one of the crew dormitories located along "Scotland Road" on E Deck, this one with berths for up to 40 Saloon Waiters (in a single room). On Titanic, the crew referred to these compartments as "Glory Holes". In the game, the lockers in these rooms, such as those in this render, will be open-able by the player, and inside you'll find personalized objects created and placed according to what the crew in those areas may have kept in the lockers. All crew dormitories on E Deck have been completed. There will be also a new video update by the end of this month. Stay tuned.

I highly doubt that you can save the ship. You'll play from the perspective of a bank robber who flees England on the Titanic. So you will be playing as a passenger.
