 Post Topic: Excellent Cfg [CRYSIS + WARHEAD]
PostPosted 16.10.2008, 23:54
EXCELLENT CFG

I guys! I'm working on this CFG from ages :P Finally I released it!!! The first project was inspired by the Extreme Quality CFG, then after CCC 2.21 release I made several changes to improve quality and performance too. I hope you'll appreciate it and I'm here waiting for your suggestions, comments, screens, .... money ..... everything ... so please post them ;) :P

In this pack you'll find 3 version of mine CFG: FiNAL, DaRK and LiGHT.

FiNAL = it's the EXCELLENT CFG ... no more.

DaRK = here I put many params on Ultra settings...so this version improves quality reducing performance.

LiGHT = here I reduced that params improving performance!

DOWNLOAD CRYSIS EDITION

DOWNLOAD WARHEAD EDITION

Here some suggestions's of mine:

Quote:
-> More FPS:

° r_UseEdgeAA = 1 or even 0
° e_lod_ratio = 4 or less
° e_view_dist_ratio = x ( 60-[VeryHigh#High#Medium] / 40-[Low] )
° e_view_dist_ratio_vegetation = x < 30
° e_particles_lod = 0.5 or 0.7 ( less FPS than 0.5 but a little bit more quality )
° e_particles_max_emitter_draw_screen = 25 or even 16
° r_WaterUpdateDistance = 0.1 or 0.2 ( water's quality reflections killer )
° e_terrain_lod_ratio = 1.5 or 2
° e_terrain_texture_lod_ratio = 1.5 or 2
° r_SSAO = 0 and leave the rest as it is
° Add sys_LowSpecPak = 1
° r_TexBumpResolution = 1 or even 2 ( reduces texture resolution: 1 = 1/2; 2 = 1/4 )
° r_TexturesFilteringQuality = same above
° r_GeomInstancing = 0
° delete HDR params
° r_sunshafts = 0
° r_WaterGodRays = 0
° r_Coronas = 0
° r_Flares = 0
° e_particles_quality = 2
° e_obj_quality = 2
° cl_hud = 0 or simply deleted what you don't need in the HUD from crysis/game/gamedata.pak/libs/ui

° need more? Ask! ;)

-> More Quality:

° r_UseEdgeAA = 3
° e_lods = 0 and e_lod_max = 0, or e_lod_ratio = x>6
° e_vegetation_sprites_distance_ratio = 1.8 or more
° e_view_dist_ratio = x > 80 [Otherwise set it as you need to reach the best compromise Quality/Performance]
° e_view_dist_ratio_vegetation = x > 30 [Otherwise set it as you need to reach the best compromise Quality/Performance]
° e_particles_max_emitter_draw_screen = 48 or more
° g_battleDust_enable = 1
° e_proc_vegetation = 0
° p_max_MC_iters = 7000
° e_shadows_cast_view_dist_ratio = 1 or even 2
° e_shadows_from_terrain_in_all_lods = 1
° r_BeamsMaxSlices = 300
° e_terrain_lod_ratio = 0.3
° e_terrain_texture_lod_ratio = 0.2
° r_SSAO_quality = 2 and (if you like) add both r_SSAO_blur = 4 and r_SSAO_blurriness = 1
° r_UseGSParticles = 1 ( it activate the computation of particle physics on DirectX10 even in connection of a Shader 4.x GPU )
° e_gsm_range = 6

° need more? Ask! ;)

-> As player prefers:

° sys_physics_CPU: [0/1/2/3]

0 = disabled
1 = dual core
2 = tri core
3 = quad core

However I suggest to do your own test with sys_physics_CPU = 0 and sys_physics_CPU = # ( <-- your core number ): this param affects the performances, so higher FPS = not quality loss, only a smoother game!

° cl_hitblur = 1 and/or cl_hitshake = 1

° r_DepthOfField: [0/1/2]

0 = off
1 = on
2 = on and overrides game settings - blurs distant mountains

° r_MotionBlur: [0/1/2/3/4]

0 = off
1 = on - screen motion blur
2 = on - screen and object motion blur
3 = on - all motion blur and freezing
4 = on - only per object

° gpu_particle_physics = Set 1 if you have only 1 core!

° SSAO settings:

+ Dark: r_SSAO_depth_range = 2 or simply increase r_SSAO_darkening
- Dark: r_SSAO_depth_range = 0 or simply decrease r_SSAO_darkening

° set q_ params as you prefer. About this -> Trick: because of my hardware configuration I can't play Crysis @ 1280*800, so I have to play it @ 1024*640.Obviously the first one has better quality but less FPS, and the second one has more FPS but less quality; so if you decrased your resolution as me, try to set q_render = 3 and you'll have quite the same incrased resolution's quality without losing the same FPS.

° r_ShadowTexFormat:

0 = use R16G16 texture format for depth map
1 = try to use R16 format if supported as render target
2 = use R32F texture format for depth map
3 = use ATI's DF24 texture format for depth map
4 = use NVIDIA's D24S8 texture format for depth map
5 = use NVIDIA's D16 texture format for depth map Usage

-> Using:

- Natural MOD: probably the best for the couple quality/performance;

- CCC 2.21: about quality I prefer Natural MOD; about performance it's a little bit more smooth than Natural MOD;

- Mster Config 3.01: Very good quality and especially performance but water shadows and reflactions give to me some problems and sea was too choppy even if I reduced the proper params;

Suggestion: Use the modified nanosuit's textures taken from "my texture update"...very very good quality!

and if you like to be God and kill everyone without any problems simply edit your difficulty level's cfg like this:

Quote:
-- Player Health/Energy/Suit

g_suitCloakEnergyDrainAdjuster = 0
g_suitRecoilEnergyCost = 0
g_suitSpeedEnergyConsumption = 0
g_suitSpeedMult = 3

g_suitArmorHealthValue = 900.0
g_playerSuitArmorModeHealthRegenTime = 0
g_playerSuitArmorModeHealthRegenTimeMoving = 0
g_playerSuitHealthRegenTime = 0
g_playerSuitHealthRegenTimeMoving = 0
g_playerSuitHealthRegenDelay = 0

g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeTimeArmor = 0
g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeTimeArmorMoving = 0
g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeTime = 0
g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeDelay = 0

g_playerHealthValue = 200.0

g_difficultyLevel = 2
v_driverControlledMountedGuns = 1

cl_strengthscale = 4
pl_swimBaseSpeed = 6
pl_swimJumpSpeedBaseMul = 10

g_godMode = 1
i_noweaponlimit = 1
i_unlimitedammo = 1

THANKS to my friends jmanrob and I Ali Cat I for their help and support! ;)

this sound very good though!

EDIT: sorry,Ii read a little to fast, lol, did see the "post some screens of how it performes" etc. LOL, sorry, my mistake, ignore the one above

My hardware configuration is not so powerful ... infact I wrote to post screens too! it's only an autoexec... no more... so if you have time please try it ... make some screens and post them with comments and suggestions

TNX :)

Well, it's a CFG that changes the look and feel of the game (whether it's for performance or visual splendor).

Naturally you'd like to know how something looks and feels if it's designed to do exactly that.
So no screenies = no reason to download.

You put the autoexec in Crysis main folder, and if that doesn't work put it in Crysis/Game/Config folder.
Btw. downloading now. :)

AMD athlo 64 x2 4200+
ASUS M2N-E SLI MoBo
Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT
2 Gb DDR2 RAM @ 333mhz
Windows XP Home SP3

Overclock of the GPU: 41 %

PD: I'm testing the LiGHT config.
