 Post Topic: Crysis 2 - First Official In-game Screenshots!

A lot of you have been wating eagerly for the first in-game screenshots and here they are. These screenshots have been published at Yesterday's EU showcase event, where new upcoming games have been demonstrated, including the XBox 360 version of Crysis 2.

The In-Game Screenshots
In both screenshots you can see the pre-alpha in-game HUD. In the first image, taking place in front of a building in the middle of New York, you can see a fight between aliens, CryNet soldiers and the player. The second one showcases a fight between a CryNet soldier and the player. Obviously the CryNet soldier is losing, since his back is hitting through some breaking solar panels. Please note that these screenshots are work in progress.

Good to see the NanoSuit's hands with some high quality textures.

Overall it looks somewhat consoltized with some blurry low res textures in places, and the HUD doesn't really look like it belongs to the NanoSuit. I prefer the health and energy bars.

Can't wait to see some extensive gameplay videos. I wanna see how it moves.

Do like, though there are some obvious problems with the HUD.

Those screens are in 1080p. Major props to Crytek if the game actually does run at 1080p native on consoles.

First screen is a bit underwhelming though. And the new HUD seems a bit generic (energy/health bars were awesome!). I was expecting an evolution of the Crysis 1 HUD instead of such a large departure. I guess that the bigger text helps with readability, though.

Not bad - i prefer the old bars for the HUD though, this one looks too much like its from half-life.

Other than that, pretty good for consoles. I would like to see a screen of someone being thrown through something like the original though :)

I expected more. Doesn't look special. Crysis 1 was way more impressing at times. And the alien design is also kinda uncreative.And the hud doesn't fit. I do like the glass, though.

Well, maybe it's to early to really judge, I'll just wait for some screens.

well it looks good, but not best graphics. compared to uncharted 2 this looks kinda week.

Field of View seems too low, I know this is done on consoles for performance reasons and somewhat because players sit further back from the action so the artificial zoom of a low FOV setting helps in that situation.

Hopefully the PC version either allows you to adjust it or it's set wider by default.

The HUD is showing problems in the first picture, look at there the white paper in the corner makes it difficult to read against the papers on the street, too much bloom on the HUD text and the color should be darker.

I like the particle effects, looks like we'll get some gore this time around as apposed to the broken gore effects in Crysis and Warhead.

Cybernetic alien bugs huh? The design on the left looks better than the one on the right, I'd lose the tubes coming out the back - looks too much like the Alien design from the "Alien" movies. I'd put some wings on them, the design sort of reminds me of the cover of Yars Revenge.

Love it, but just hate the HUD !

To be honest these two screens are seriously lacking in the visuals department. The famous Crytek magic is missing.

So, yes I am underwhelmed.

I think we need to keep in mind these are WIP, and all the bells and whistles might not have been inserted.
