 Post Topic: Request an Asset
PostPosted 31.08.2010, 18:07
Hello everyone,
Following the popular Request a Texture thread, I would like to offer some more services.

Basically this one works the same way as Request a Texture but you request a model (and if I have the time I'll texture it). This is also for use exclusively in the Sandbox, I am not going to make anything for something other than Crysis.

Please keep requests for assets on a small basis (smaller than a car) and not complexed. So a crate is fine but a motorbike is not.

Bare in mind most of these assets will be as low poly as possible and probably untextured (unless I'm feeling kind).

Last but not least, if someone else has asked for something please wait until I have finished it before you request.

A wooden table large enough to accommodate a rifle would be nice for renders.

Even though it's very simple it would be nice if you could add small indents, chips, and such.

Hi Richard

A while back in the old forum format I requested somone to make a brush of a flat steel plate with crysis honeycomb cut-outs...
Edit:
finished size would be around 2m x 1m

so something like the attached (just the plate) with the crysis honeycomb cutouts instead of the holes shown

I made a nasty version of this out of solids...it would be so much better as a single brush

If you could do this it would be really awesome..thanks

Richard, you should read something about optimizing faces/tris etc. I made same table and it have only 43 faces.
Btw - what software are you using?

sorry for my bad english :)

Well yours is low poly with no detail, and i specifically asked him to put in details which obviously cost polygons.

Thanks Richard.

What program do you use, and how did you learn it? I would love to model things but 3ds max seems so complicated trying to make something other than a box for me.

Thanks everyone. Don't forget to rate the thread!
@Tentaris: Have you made another model? I would be interested to see it. Other than removing faces which are not visible and stretching faces over more than 4 verts (screwing up the roto) I am not too sure where they could be made.
@gametime: The picture has expired. Please put up another one.

I use Blender. Sometimes I use Sculptris for organic modelling (not my forte). Both are free and blender is open source too.

If anyone has questions about Blender I will be happy to try and answer them.

if that doesnt work, just google bathtub and the first image that shoes up.

btw, it should have simple legs, cause this should be a simple bathtub
